So I've been in touch with the speds going on about the Diablo 2 Remaster censorship, and, it seems, the changes go well beyond making the Amazon look like she should be smashing up a Gamestop.
Almost all of the footage has shown that all the female characters have been covered up, changed, or altered. Equally telling, however, is that they've changed the monsters. For the uninitiated, Diablo II has a lot of female monsters, and they're usually pretty creepy looking, but also wear very little clothing and the effect tends to actually make them more disturbing visually. It's a well-known horror trope, and was used rather famously by the Nurses in Silent Hill 2, for example.
For reasons known only to Blizzard, they've begun censoring these, including the Act 1 boss and the first major boss of Act 1.

These bits of censorship are telling, because like the WC3 Remaster, they really give you an idea of where they're going to be going with this "remaster" - namely, that they are going to do this with basically every conceivably attractive female character or enemy in the game. Think of how much time and money is being spent on doing this shit, hiring teams of modelers specifically to cover up a pixelated bit of boobage here or an ass cheek there on a character barely 64 pixels tall.
That Blizzard is going to fuck this remaster up to competition standards is a bygone conclusion; the censorship itself just gives us our first taste of how up they're going to fuck.
