To change the subject from Deluxe Remaster, did anybody check out the expansion mod for OTR that came out recently?

Frank puts it best when he yells at him before he dies. "That doesn't excuse what you've done! But I promise you, Santa Cabeza's story will be told."What happened to his people was extremely terrible and unfair but commit terrorism on some random american town to "send a message" was truly short sighted
I'd be more interested in a remake of 2 if we didn't live in a censorship hell scape. The game could use a fresh coat of paint and a few of Off the Record's additions back ported, but we are going to get a highly censored shit version with a new voice actor for Chuck whoDead Rising 2 is pretty Kino. Hope they don't remake it.
it's like putting dead space style gameplay into RE4.
Youd like it like I liked Dead Rising 2s gameplay on a superficial level but is it really RE4 at that point? Let me give a different example maybe, compare say the capcom build of Red Dead Revolver which was very arcadey to Gun which is arguably proto Red Dead Redemption. Shoehorning in the gameplay of the latter in the former did make the former good in some circles but if Im a fan of arcade shooters with scoring systems optional achievements and tough bosses, am I really going to be happy with an open world game with a story and missions and side quest busy work? DR2 disappoints me, Im not angry with it, I just find it incredibly generic and tedious compared to the first game, both on writing and gameplay levels.Bad example, that sounds bitching
I would be very interested in trying some of these big mods out, much like I have been recently trying out Pokemon ROMhacks for the first time.To change the subject from Deluxe Remaster, did anybody check out the expansion mod for OTR that came out recently?

And thats what makes it special and so beloved. I think it's deeper than Resident Evil, also just a great game influenced by George Romero.Worst part? its probably one of the most realistic things in Dead Rising.
It's been almost a month since 1's remake came out, let's see how it's doing!

Oh.
The physical edition should be coming out soon, so I assume at least 1 patch is a given. It's been almost a month since 1's remake came out, let's see how it's doing!

Oh.
According to Steam DB, the game was getting (not yet launched) updates almost daily... for about a week or 2, and it hasn't been touched for about 3 weeks now. It will likely get one update for the most broken stuff and then be forgotten about. Is the game even gonna get a single fixing patch? There were quite a few bugs when I played.

I think the lack of anyone at CAPCOM interested in the series plays a bigger role. It was Keiji Inafune's baby - more so than Megaman - and he found a Canadian studio that could keep the series going. CAPCOM lost both and hasn't gotten much fresh blood, so who would be left to have any strong ideas for a new game?I'll be honest, Capcom didnt put that much thought into this and why should they? The Dead Rising brand was on a downward trend post OTR and diminishing returns were difficult to ignore after 4 but there were still nerds asking for a DR1 remake with the RE engine so why not? They completely outsourced the production to ching-chongs and DEI worshippers because, again, why should they care much about a brand that has not much to give anymore?
I really need to play that one. I've only played DR2. But I've always heard great things about this one. It's been going on sale a lot.The series peaked with Dead Rising 2 OTR
Oh, it's fantastic. You should definitely give it a try, it's arguably the the best DR game, and one that has the most evolved mechanics to date. There is Dead Rising 3 which could be considered it's fork in evolution, but DR2: OTR is more faithful to the older formula. I would suggest actually playing DR1 and then DR2 beforehand, DR1 since this is a non-canon sequel to that game and DR2 since OTR is a remix of DR2. Weapons are in a different place, scoops start at a different time, and some features that were unfinished or barebones in DR2 were fleshed out in OTR but it's mostly the same thing. You can consider Off The Record to be a brand new game despite 95% of it being identical to DR2, simply with what the game does with both existing and new content.I really need to play that one.
