I am not gonna lie, when DRR inevitably bombs/disappoints, I will NOT be humble about DR3 still standing the test of time. Look out for all the "Dead Rising 3 is a Hidden Gem" type videos when fans and normalfags alike see that maybe, just maybe, CV wasn't all bad. I had a blast bullying Bethesda fans about Outer Worlds being better than Starfield and this is starting to feel similar.

I feel the same. If we aren't going to get absolutely faithful remakes sans censorship then take the original premise and mix it up to make it stand on its own. RE4 remake isn't as good as the original, but it's definitely one of the better RE games as a whole.

I wouldn't have minded a re-imagining of Dead Rising 1 in a similar vein either. Same premise, completely remixed story with lots of new mechanics, like I dunno, backport combo weapons or something, add some Easter eggs for Chuck Greene, whatever.

Now we just get this weird remake that has a lot of the charm of the original sliced out. I just don't see the point as someone who has played the original to death. I love erotica points. I love Clint screaming about filthy commies. And the game unironically still looks great.

They were pretty fuckin bad dude. 3 was okay at best and they spent ten years after that getting retard wrangled by the Jap side of the company as they kept putting together prototypes for Dead Rising with Parkour, a Souls-like Dead Rising, a Dead Rising that was a The Last of Us clone, and finally the absolute soy infused garbage can mess that was 4.

Will 3 be better than Remake? Probably. But let's not start sucking off the guys who killed the franchise in the first place.

The failure of DR4 created a bunch of people saying maybe DR3 wasn't as bad as people said; if anything, DRR could maybe have people say DR4 was Le Hidden Gemerald, which is a harrowing thought.
 
I dont see much fanfare around this remake/remaster so its my hope that it underperforms and puts this franchise back into the ground for good this time.

Are we sure the japanese are actually making this game? Seems like a pretty western development for me. It doesnt really say anything about the game, its just a dumbass song with corporate animation with footage of the game mixed in.

Most of the people who made DR2 and DR3 were gone by that point, so it might as well have been an entirely new studio. While you're right that CV crashed in it's final years, it wasn't the devs that made DR2 and DR3 what they were that made DR4 it was a group of outsiders that didn't care about the franchise. As you said they wanted to quite literally do everything BUT Dead Rising and that's not even covering half the retarded ideas they pitched to Capcom.
I still have more respect for CV all things considered than the studios who made recent crapcom games since at least they didn't self-censor themselves like modern Capcom games do or run the old IPs to the ground by trying to "modernize" them(Resident Evil remakes and now Dead Rising remake). I do think they should have been given a chance to make something other than Dead Rising but that's not an excuse for how bad DR4 bombed.

What does it say about it when I completely forgot about it? I meant the 4 DLC episodes for the main game.
Not gonna defend the decision not to port either it or the smartglass missions over to the PC version, but aside from the meme factor of all the crossovers and co-op I didn't really see people talk about it all that much nor do I believe anyone still plays it anymore. I would much rather have the original co-op mode, Stronghold, that was cut out of the game.
If anyone here actually played Hyper Alpha DLC, feel free to correct me if it was the best thing ever and that we're all missing out for not playing a 10 year old game on an Xbox One instead of the more accessible PC version.

BTW, now that the game is just about ready to release, do keep an eye on if he's even complaining about anything like this or other criticisms the game got from everybody. I guarantee you he's going to suck up to Capcom even more than "Suzi" aka Sphere Troon, and that means that the "fanbase" is wrong all of a sudden and they just don't understand how DRR is the perfect remake.

If you wanted confirmation that the franchise has been fully devoured by the grey blob of "modern audience", here you go. This is why nobody will complain about all the censorship in the demake, and especially not when the "biggest fan" is a total shill now.
 
Bold of you to assume they are fans at all. They'll never replace us, who played 1 or 2 on our xbox 360s. I am old enough to remember playing Case West on my old friend's 360. Nothing will replace true fans. It's just doomer shit. The grey blobs will move on like locusts exactly like RE3 and RE4 faggots did. Not nearly as destructive as someone like STiP0 and anyone who hoardes their unique shit just because they are mega fans who need to flex and withhold invaluable history and info about a series just for bragging rights. STIPO comes off as someone who isnt a fan of DR1 but someone with mental problems who attached in an unhealthy manner to the original. He lives and breathes the fucking thing. Getting different versions, different builds, different everything as long it is DR1. It kind walks the thin line between passionative and obssessive and given how he stated himself he is going through some tough times with his mental health, Im inclined to believe in the latter.

This remake is the best thing that has ever happened to him because all his "love" is justified again and he can obssess over this too and he doesnt have to reflex on how pathetic it all is.
