Did I miss the time where this thread had posters talk about Amiibo collections?

One might think that using maxmoefoe is technically cheating, but he’s not the only one. That video was made just a year ago, for these ones existed almost two to even SIX years ago:

As a bonus, it was just a few days ago when Nathaniel Bandy made a video about his Amiibo collection. Though, to be fair, I think he realized that he was in on the joke:

Good lord. I'd get it if you wanna use them for games but... That many? Really?

Lootcrate
I found a Lootcrate branded tshirt in a thrift store here (in Russia), bought it as it was precious shade of blue that made my red fucking face look better. The picture (Transformer) started to rub off after two washes, so now I wear it at home. Was it their general quality?

I can imagine so because I've heard that Lootcrate was actually a box of unsold merch from warehouses.
I can imagine the company had to spend as little money as possible for their exclusive merch and not too long after, the company went under.

Fashion man, a story in three parts.
Posting this less about him than to highlight how his audience clearly struggles with the difference between dropping $500 on Shien vs. buying secondhand, as well as the same discussion we've been having in this thread re: "Where is the line?"

(The O-OP privated her account, btw)

Consoom anti-consoomerism, you must buy the punk™ brand #Resist™

Funko pop nfts are a thing now apparently. Poor Bob Ross has to be rolling in his grave.

God this makes me MATI. I don't care for Bob ross's paintings but his whole fucking life philosophy was to make people fall in love with painting and being creative, his name and estate were basically swindled out of him while he was on his deathbed dying of fucking cancer just a few years after his wife passed and now all these tie-ins to his name for art supplies and shit like this are being pushed like crazy against the rest of his family's wishes. There's a whole documentary about this on Netflix

God this makes me MATI
Funkos and the grifting of Bob Ross only add insult to injury but everything about NTFs is usually enough to make me MATI, so much that i don't bring it up for the thread since i avoid lingering too much on the topic for my own mental health, everytime i read something i try to forget it and pretend is not real.

But fuck it, someone made this cheap ass cursed animated abomination featuring those ugly apes as an NTF cartoon and is now worth 2 million dollars with the usual redditors being extra excited claiming is the best thing ever made and a historical achievement of epic proportions.
Just end it all now, burn this gay earth, i wouldn't even right click save none of this shit for free.

This is the exclusive welcome video you get if you booked a stay at the godawful Disney Wars hotel.

Its about as cheap looking as you can expect, but totally worth $10k amiright fellow Disneyphiles?

Iphones instead of props, backdrops you'd expect at some movie editor store in a mall, shitty gimmick poker as the only source of entertainment, and they even gave the alien girl the wrong skin color so you know they're really dedicated to their authentic LARP bullshit at least!

But its not Disney's fault though. Fans are just toxic bigots!

This is your brain on consoomerism.

Reservations are being cancelled at a rapid pace but I'm still expecting plenty of shill videos bragging about wasting $20k to "enjoy" this shitty experience twice.

IMHO one of the reasons of this failure is the fact that while normal Disney travels and experiences are aimed at kids or families with kids, this Star Wars thing had to include young adults and adult nerds. Which is a problem because adults that demand to enjoy an immersive, realistic experience won’t just be satisfied with the usual kid thing Disney does.
The result is probably going to be something that neither target will like.

I have a custom amiibo of a pikachu in a soup bowl, it's one of the more worthwhile purchases of my life.
Dunno where your "original funko pops" thing is coming from. Amiibos came AFTER funko pops and actually have some effort in their design. The few I've wanted that I managed to get before scalpers did make nice small desk/shelf figurines. The smash bros Banjo is the best, honestly. Smash amiibos in general are the better ones if only because the concept is based off the smash brothers trophies scalpers and hoarders are the actual worst because it's a crapshoot whether you will find one you're interested in or not for normal price or marked up to 200 damn dollars online due to the fuckers.

Disney is (or used to) be capable of immersive experience shit. Haunted mansion, Pirates of the carribean, and Maelstrom are all really good examples but all are also from decades before disney's current year "make everything tv screens" approach to effects in their rides. Maelstrom also got gutted and re-fitted as a slow ass boring TV screen ride showcasing the let it go scene from frozen a few years ago so there's that. Now, in terms of immersive experiences in the form of hotels disney has never tried that shit before and if it was any other disney than current year "faceless corporate hell conglomerate that now owns half the entertainment industry" disney it might have had a chance. Now though? yeah no shit it'd turn out dogshit.

I think not having anything for the kids was one of the stupider decisions for this hotel. There's almost zero things for kids to enjoy in it other than lightsaber training and watching cosplayers "fix" a fake engine room, and both are just mediocre and uneventful no matter how they spin it. Only other thing to do in this hotel is play poker, drink cocktails and listen to a dated lounge singer, and that sure as hell ain't for kids, and the consoomers probably won't like it either unless the cups from the bar are collectibles they can cram into their overstuffed shelves at home. And as far as nerd manchildren are concerned, there's no kiddie crap for them to enjoy other than that corny training experience, and the "immersive" aspect of his hotel that Disney claims is for the "nerds" is incredibly cheap and out of place while trying to be its own thing rather than actually try to feel like a part of franchise it claims to take place in, and it doesn't help that Disney's spin on Star Wars is all around terrible, woke and bloated, so this hotel even fails at trying to appeal to anyone except the most diehard Disneyphiles and consoomers who would've gone to this hotel even if was poorly built over a landfill.

Kind of amusing how they've lost touch with not just their customerbase, but even their own past. But that's to be expected when you have gaggles of drooling consoomers who will throw money at you just for the privilege of working for their soulless ratfaced company for free. It breeds laziness and overconfidence.
