And the older games such as Vagrant Story and Xenogears are so locked in on a storytelling railroad track that they would have easily had 20 hours worth of cutscenes if they were made in the last 15 years. E33 is below average on the cutscene runtime, so it’s absolutely laughable that you’re pulling the “movie game” card.

Its literally the main selling point of the game and why it won so much notoriety to begin with.

Metaphor had an original story and message about the importance of fiction and how it can shape one's perception on life and it actively avoided all those cliches you were talking about and weebs hated it citing it as woke.

This game is so unbelievably mid, it's not even funny. If this had come out during the late 90s / early 2000s JRPG boom, it would've been ignored for being too French. The only reason why this game is getting any attention at all is because we haven't had a decent turn based RPG in ages, but everyone's treating it like it's the second coming of Christ. Get over yourselves. It's not special. It's not anything we haven't seen before.

Call me in a few years when its (inevitable) sequel release gets the Kingdom Come II treatment and they fill it with "diversity".

The discussion here is about the female characters wearing skimpy outfits. Their default outfits (which is what is in all of the prerendered sequences and on the marketing) aren’t the suimsuits.
