So the classic opera 'Carmen' is getting a new tour, and with it the ending is getting revamped.

As I'm sure you all know (lol) at the end of Carmen, Don Jose, who's lustfully obsessed with the titular character, originally stabs Carmen to death after being spurned for a bullfighter. In the 'new and improved' ending, Carmen ends up totally pulling a fucking revolver and blasting Don Jose.

I'm just surprised that people still bother to listen to them. Even fucking Marvel has finally learned that SJWs don't buy shit.

And you'll have people saying shit like "The original is still there they didn't change it!" "It's just their take on it don't be so upset!" As if they're nothing wrong and it'll carry on like you said.
 
This reminds me of a production of the Bacchae I went to recently. Not only was Dionysus played by a little red-haired dyke, but the maenads were in crop tops and cut offs, and the acting was exceptionally poor. They tried to make it an allegory for Brexit and Trump in the most heavy-handed way possible. Worst of all however, they cut out the tragic ending, in which Agave realizes that she is holding the head of her son. Instead, they chose to end the play with the death of Pentheus and the dismemberment of both the king of Thebes and the original greek text, along with a trite speech about how the audience "need to be the Bacchae" and go out in the streets and be part of the #revolution. Having to sit by while they butchered my favorite tragedy was painful to say the least.

They ruin everything they touch. Movies, books, TV shows, video games. They don't just tweek the story in subtle ways. They drastically change the whole thing until it's unrecognizable. And not a single company learns. Sjw ideas aren't popular.

This'll be a tragedy, but not in the way it was intended to be.

There was once a time, when Theater Plays were so loved that a poor performance would cause literal rioting in the streets.

Somehow I don't think the perpetually-offended mob of SJW's that are ruining so many wonderful things would appreciate having to face down a vastly larger mob of just regular people that've been fed up with the SJW's shit.
 
If the change the story is supposed to be moral, then how the hell does the ending support this by having Carmen murder Don Jose merely for asking her to return to him? It seems that even the brilliant display of emotions and philosophy behind the tragedy is no match for turning it all into a cheap soap opera revenge porn just to appease some temporary fad.

At least great art resonates throughout all of civilization, while cheap fads like this are looked upon as no more than a footnote.

If the intent is for this revision to catch on, I'd be interested in finding out whatever rights and crediting issues may exist.

Carmen predates copyright law and royalties, yes, but since opera companies mount and revive entire productions – sets, lights, concept, etc – could anything happen if the adapters sought proper credit? And if they wanted and could get royalties, what's stopping companies from just saving a bit on the regular Carmen?
 
Next, when Oedipus Rex finds out he murdered his father and married his mother, he decides it's okay because quit kink shaming, mom! Then he decides he's a troon and rips off his balls instead of his eyes.

The only time I ever go to the theater is the annual Nutcracker performance in December, and I would rather pull my teeth than watch Opera, but this, this is bullshit. But the silver lining is that this is going to fail and these little shits will look at the wreckage and wonder why it failed and we will be able to laugh at them.
