So the classic opera 'Carmen' is getting a new tour, and with it the ending is getting revamped.

As I'm sure you all know (lol) at the end of Carmen, Don Jose, who's lustfully obsessed with the titular character, originally stabs Carmen to death after being spurned for a bullfighter. In the 'new and improved' ending, Carmen ends up totally pulling a fucking revolver and blasting Don Jose.

The thing I'm most surprised about is that SJWs were even aware of how the Opera Carmen ended. Opera isn't exactly an art form that danger hairs or communication majors tend to enjoy, so what bastard tried to get them to invade what is, in my opinion, the highest form of European theatre? How is it that Italy of all places seeks to mutilate its own culture?

All theater gets revamped. They put Hamlet into a corporate environment and made Othello into a High School. You can do these things. Alter settings, adjust costumes. Different music. One Shakespeare small play was even set during the Bosnian war. I mean, the only limit is your imagination.

You know who goes to these? Theater/Opera (I only occasionally like an opera. Its an acquired taste) fags like me. You know why they go? Because the stories don't change, the lens that they are viewed through changes. I guarantee people are going to go into this expecting Carmen and then going 'wtf is this shit'. Carmen dies because freedom has a heavy cost. It asks the audience 'are you willing to pay for that freedom with your life'? Its a tragedy because that's the price some people HAVE to pay. Yes, Carmen dies. But the point is she dies free and true to herself and sometimes that bears a heavy price. Now, what's the point? What's the message? You turned it into a fucking Marvel comic. I don't know shit about opera, but if this is anything like what happened with Marvel, there's nothing to worry about. Tons of people may love it, though we all know that this kind of audience isn't the kind that pays for things. Then everyone will realize that this is a losing battle and everything will go back to the way it was.

(or it will end in tragedy, like an opera would)
