I actually had to set up a door ajar scenario because I had no idea. That said my car is boring on that front. No 'doo dee doo' like Ford. Just bong bong bong.

So many annoying chimes and dings. I've actually unplugged the chimes/buzzers in just about all of my cars. I haven't done it in my FD but I may. The only other car I haven't removed the chime from is one of the old BMWs which will ding to announce a problem on the status display such as engine temp high, oil level low, or a light being out, which is useful but I am still annoyed if it dings at me if I have a door open with my keys in it. I have only locked the keys in the car once in my life and it was because they fell off of my clip on the seat as I got up, and I've never left the lights on and killed my battery, so I consider the chimes a nuisance since nobody else drives my cars.

The old dodge trucks had the most awful buzzer...

The 80s Ford buzzers were about as harsh. Reminds me I need to fix my wastegate actuator.

Well I own the bullet antenna lol. Looks great on the Malibu, actually improved the radio

Ohhh because you probably don't have an aux port and are using those aux to fm transmitters
Ding ding. The Bluetooth to FM radio gadget I have combined with the bullet antenna actually has improved in sound immensely. Even the radio itself has. You guys were wrong, ngl, I'm picking up a lot of signal compared to the old bare stud. And it looks good on this old beater. Need to get some gun stickers now lol, complete the look.

When your transmitter is 3 ft away from your antenna, you probably want the stubby.

How are you going to listen to your local public NPR affiliate without the stock antenna?

The antenna is actually in the back lol, so make it 6 feet. But it actually picks up stations pretty good now, fuck that stock antenna lol. As for NPR, you think I listen to gay state news in HotRod? Lel. I'm just glad the radio still has a AM setting for emergency stations

This radio talk is reminding of how I would jam out stations with a strong one on amazon. Had a lot of fun pulling up to someone and watch them frantically go for the radio now that Rush Limbaugh is replaced with Francis E. Dec esquire

AM is based because Art Bell with Coast to Coast and Trucker Radio, but SW is basedest. Want to hear 24/7 Chinese propaganda and numbers stations? CB gets an honorable mention because there's a ton of schizoids on there. I keep one in the truck. FRS is pretty good too because some drive thrus still use it

CB is the radio of the gods. I’ve had so much fun shooting the breeze with truckers that it’s unreal. Shortwave is fun too for making the world feel bigger. Ham sucks because the old geezers like to tattle to the Feds

Got a manual after only driving automatic, took a little getting used to but that shit is fun. Nothing fancy, just a shitty 05 focus but I like it.
They are solid little cars. Give it a later model ST or RS swap lol.

Head won't be done until about h-ween. Ugh I want to break 200whp.

Also it's a mixed blessing as the clutch on my civic is brutal and I have a grade 2 ankle sprain.

Manuals are very fun. Just got my daily back after lending it for a few weeks and I missed it so much. I think I know why everyone is on their phones when they drive now because autos are deadly boring

GM has finally put a floor shifter on their trucks. It’s about damn time I guess lmao. Only reason I just found out about this is because a family member of mine is looking for a newer truck. They were originally looking for Escalade/Denali. But the newer body style Escalade is still outlandishy expensive used. And the Yukons have that retarded shifter.

When I daily drove my jag I never took it out of flappy paddle mode. When it was fun times I always missed a 3rd pedal.

The two ATS I had for work, gosh being 20+ years different than last auto I owned so much nicer than those old school sloggy torque converters. And i was in grid lock major city traffic I didn't much mind.

People are idiots and addicted to phones. I see people do the knee shift so they can play clash of clans at every stop light. Boomers on Harleys texting at stops.. now that boils my autistic blood.

The only time I hate driving manual is when I'm stuck on a traffic jam on a slope behind a semi truck. Other than that, I think it's genuinely better for keeping driver concentration. I hope I still have both of my feet and not began to weaken when I'm old.

I had a high torque single disc clutch that was terribly heavy in one of my cars, driving that in a traffic jam sucked because of how heavy and grabby it was. But otherwise I have no issues with a manual in traffic, the twin disc clutch I have in that car now isn't as bad though it is very light with the aluminum flywheel and clutch basket which means you have to rev higher to take off from a stop. It's not something I pay attention to with normal cars, it becomes second nature after doing it for almost 20 years.
