Somebody at Disney clearly said "WE NEED A SUPERMAN" and they've been trying to do Captain Marvel for half-a-decade and it just isn't working. That hasn't stopped them yet.

Which is funny because if they wait a bit they can probably just buy him and then captain marvel is redundant.

Don't be speds. It's a Disney Marvel movie and there hasn't been something for normies to flock to in a while. The worst it would do is like $500-600 million worldwide.

Since this is such a ground breaking film for all women, showcasing a female on screen for the first time ever, it'll probably do at least $6 billion. It would do more if men weren't so sexist.

If she ends up defeating Thanos with ease the way Superman handled Steppenwolf, the same people who criticized the latter will cheer the former (and probably making mention that Captain Marvel is a strong, independent woman).

Honestly, all this virtue signalling over Captain Marvel will probably lead to it going the way of Ghostbusters 2016.
At the worst, Captain Marvel could be another Ghostbusters 2016 in terms of reviews, were critics liked it though no ovey gushing over it while audiences hated it.

I wonder if Brie Larson realizes that Bob Iger is going to lay into her a new if this underperforms. I mean, this man will do anything to have Disney make a profit and he has no room for identity politics. Just look at Kathleen Kennedy with her Star Wars treatment.

Yeah, I'd put it somewhere in the $550-650 range myself, since that's where Deadpool and Ant-Man 2 eventually landed. Disney movies have a floor of around $200 mil. domestically, but international can be a real crap shoot. You have movies like Infinity War which grossed $1.4 billion overseas, and then you have Solo and Mary Poppins Returns which scraped together less than $175 mil each.

My official predictions:
$250 Domestic Box Office
$350 International Box Office

Feel free to quote this to make fun of me when Captain Marvel ends up being a huge hit and makes over a billion at the box office.

I'm very confused why Captain Marvel is getting so much praise for being a female superhero when the franchise she's a part of includes Gamora, Nebula, Scarlet Witch, and Black Widow. What makes her different?

“OWN MOVIE THO!”

Some marketing faggot decided this would be the First Female Superhero Movie, just like they decided Black Panther was going to be an Important Movie for Black Culture.

A ridiculously bad take on Captain Marvel. Ignoring the fact it's women and non-whites who are disinterested in this movie too.

Like what the fuck is wrong with these weirdos? And we know that they will forget about this movie soon after release like they usually do.
What else is new? If a butterfly is on her profile, she's probably vile.

In fact, upon seeing this... thing:

I'm going to see what other funny shit it's said.

Here's her crappy blog, dig away guys: https://genderexpressive.wordpress.com/

>"He can't be racist because he once sexually assaulted a black person" has to be the absolute worst take of all time.
Completely missing the point that leftists like to make shit up, so it's a difficult choice between going with this lie or keeping the older one. Also there's a reply which says >Whaaat?! So, by that logic, I guess White former slaveholders that sexually assaulted their African-American (women) slaves weren't racist either?!???, invoking Godwin's Law, but for muh slaves.

>Does Twitter have a "Biggest Man-Baby Award"? If so, I'd like to submit this guy for voting. Good lord.
Sweaty, you've already one. There's no competition. You're more of a man and baby than he is.

The replies are fucking shit, going "muh not all men" when the whole point is the double standard of spewing retarded shit like this and then going "REE DON'T CALL A TRANS LOON A TRANS LOON." Also the fucking irony of two white dudes having this conversation when the only seperator is they're so mentally deranged they think putting on a dress and having an anime avatar makes them a gril.

Jesus this is the state of Captain Marvel shills. Here's to a bomb.

EDIT: I just realised he seemingly didn't even get what the format of the "two buttons" meme is supposed to be about to begin with. lmao

Help me out, but is there a logical fallacy this would fall under? At the least, this has been a really uncomfortable trend for the last few years. I can't imagine you could say something nasty about any other demographic and then just get away with saying "you're missing the point" or "look at all these [x] mad on the internet" or "so fragile!" to any response that isn't total agreement or silence.

Only it's pretty bad trolling because they're emotionally invested in it.

Basically just fucking end twitter. The format is just a breeding ground for self entitled fart huffing

EDIT: I think another thing these people dont realise is "muh men" only take like maybe 30 seconds of their time to think about this because they have actually jobs and responsibilities. They see something stupid on their phone, voice their opinion that it sucks and then go on with their lives. Men have bigger problems than some SJW troons living with their parents, said troons just don't notice or men just never voice it because they choose to brave through it like champs.

Stuff like sexual assault of dudes not being taken seriously, harsher prison sentences than women for the same or even lesser crimes and false accusations of even just being slightly standoffish absolutely ruining their lives and incomes, with people trying to get them fired for what they were born as or just a general feeling of expendability/invisibility to society as a whole doesn't matter to the wider male population.

However, when some nerdy shit happens that rustles SJW feathers, they never fucking shut up. It's not the same feeling with them, they just react to everything with the same hysterical hostility. They treat it like they're about to be herded off into camps any second now because an author of some book didn't approve of their gay shota fan fic or they'll send death threats to the creators of Voltron for making a bad episode. Stuff like that, y'know?

Anyway, that's just my two cents, the theory came to me like five minutes ago and I think it makes sense. If I could explain why they treat everything like this it's probably the crazy pills- I mean hormone therapy, or whatever, that's causing them to be batshit insane.

Yeah, I'm seeing a lot of "CAROL IS THE STRONKEST EVER" all over the place and I'm still really confused where it came from. As mentioned earlier in the thread, it's certainly not in the comics where she generally pretty mediocre in that department. She only gets near being a "big gun" if she has some energy source to leech off of but that's not typical. I suppose it's expecting people to be unfamilar with the character and cash in on feminists wanting some all-powerful goddess to self-insert as but as someone who likes (classic) Carol, I'm just lost on the fixation.

I don't know if it will bomb. People might just be drawn in to see it simply because of Endgame. Though I think if they fuck up Endgame, they'll Last Jedi themselves.

That was the only reason I saw Black Panther, because I thought it might have some bearing on Infinity War. Not only was it a complete waste of time, and one of the worst kids movies I've seen, but it was released out of order, so it was useless viewing after seeing Ragnarok (which was actually great). I'll see Endgame, but no chance I make the Black Panther mistake again, no Captain Marvel for me. It's bad enough Brie Larson she's "more powerful than Thanos", so her smug cardboard ass will save the day in Endgame.

Feige you idiot, Marvel Girl is stronger than thanos, not Captain Marvel.

also nobody can tell me that this was his plan all along Carol Danvers became captain marvel in 2012, the Avengers movie was already in cinemas at that point...
