Yeah, Brie Larson has the personality of a wet towel left on a cold floor in these trailers.

People can say what they want about Gal Gadot as an actress, but if there's one thing that she has, it's boatloads of charisma. That's why she was so awesome in Wonder Woman. And I'm saying this as a die-hard MARVEL fan.

And, I'm sorry: The end of the trailer, showing Captain Marvel in full costume, making things go "boom!" in space ... Looks like it's right out of a bad DCEU movie. Or Green Lantern (as I said in my previous post).

I'm going to give the movie a chance. However, dear lord, please don't make this character become too prominent in Avengers 4 ...
 
If this trailer was released instead of the Snyderlike teaser that got released I probably would’ve been more hyped for this IMO. More colorful and exhilarating albeit not in a bigger way like I hoped, and it’s definitely not going to be Suicide Squad levels of dogshit.

Still hoping she doesn’t suddenly knock out characters with 10+ years of development to become the strongest and becomes a shitstomper but judging Feige’s comments... that’ll probably happen.

And, yeah ... Marvel has been doing an overall fantastic job over the past 10 years. It would be a real damn shame if they tripped at the finish line like this. I have faith in the Russo Brothers, though.

Also I think Feige is just saying Captain Marvel is the strongest just for brownie points and to get people to watch her movie out of curiosity.

I wish they'd just give Fury his own movie, he's certainly been in enough of the MCU films to deserve his backstory being put to film, and Howling Commandos was the shit. Would probably need to cast someone other then Samuel L. Jackson for it though, if it was taking place when he was still fighting Nazis and shit.
 
I don't think they're going the 'Nick Fury has been around for over a century due to the Infinity Formula' route with him given that he didn't show up nor was referenced in the first Captain America film. Since he has both eyes and looks to be a lower ranking agent in these trailers I'm assuming this movie will also serve as an origin story of sorts for Fury. Which is kinda funny since it shows that they knew they'd need an extra hook for the film.

It reminds me of the complaining that every video game protagonist is a scowling emotionless white man with stubble. However, those complaining would probably see nothing wrong with scowling emotionless action girl.
 
Captain Marvel could be the best movie ever (ha ha, sure ) and I still wouldn't watch it because of the obnoxious marketing. Honestly, nobody beside Twitter checkmarks or those weird overly woke Marvel fans that are Tumblr-adjacent and were the only ones sad that Marvel Comics cancelled the America Chavez book are talking about Captain Marvel with any measure of enthusiasm.

As someone who likes (classic) Carol, her best years are unfortunately when she was inside Rogue. Probably would be most people's "best years" tho....

But really, why can't see be more like how she was in the 2000s? A self-made military woman who's probably a bit too addicted to adrenaline and fighting, pushes herself too much because she feels her life has been squandered with chunks of it missing. She has a habit of biting off more than she can chew in an attempt to prove herself.

You lose a lot if you rewrite her as some all-powerful "Superman/Wonder Woman/Captain America/whoever rolled into one but more feminist". Considering I'm sure a bunch of you are aware of other characters with a similar attitude to her old self that are popular, there's really no reason to do it outside being kinda butthurt about not having "a Wonder Woman" and wanting brownie points for "the strongest character ever strong is a WOMYN" (except if you look at her comic counterpart).
 
I am not a fan of Funko Pops, but damn, they did a good job with these. Just look how good they captured her boring face.

What a weird toy. The head screams "Barbie" but the body says "bootleg action figure made in Taiwan".
 
Idk if the after-credits cameo at the end of Infinity War was supposed to portray her as the last great hope in a world of shit but I'm just not feeling it. Honestly, I think a Rogue movie would have done a better job at getting me hyped since Rogue is simply a much better female Marvel character and not one just shoehorned in for girl power bonus points.
