Not gonna lie, right after I watched the Captain Marvel trailer, I watched Shazam’s. That movie at least looks promising.

I think Carol’s a cool character, but my problem is that they’re trying to shove a character that was famous for giving another character her powers up to the same spotlight characters that have been relevant for 70 years just because “she’s a woman, hear her roar!” and even people screaming that she’s gonna be better than Wonder Woman because she’s gonna kick Thanos’s ass! While she’s definitely gonna get a boost in popularity from the movie (GOTG got the same treatment) she just doesn’t have the relevancy to compete or even overpower what’s been considered the superheroine for decades and who’s been an American cultural icon for almost 70 years. The only character I can think could come close is Black Widow, and even she needed years of development within the MCU and not just one movie.

Another complaint I’ve heard is that the movie looks as emotionless as Man of Steel did. Haven’t seen that movie but it really does look like a Snyder film.

This movie should be about Monica Rambaeau\Photon, her power set is way cooler and more creative, even if similarly OP.

... Anyone who says that Captain FemaleActionFigure is better than Diana Fucking Prince aka Wonder Woman aka the one superhero who never stops believing in humanity no matter what can fuck right off.

Oh, she's the one who gives Rogue her powers? I remember that episode of the X-Men cartoon. I could see Disney/Marvel keeping that option as a plan B in case either the Captain Marvel movies flop or the actress isn't working out and/or wants out of her contract.

A super-powered Rogue that we haven't seen before in the movies would be ten times more interesting.

So this just came to my attention. Brie Larson uploaded this to Instagram and ended up deleting it after backlash.

Let's see...

Tribute to a legend who just passed and had hand in creating the character you are playing...
Take a photo of yourself.
With merchandise with your name.
Drinking and looking holier than thou.

Yeah, narcissistic bitch. Already didn't want to watch Captain Marvel, now I'm REALLY not going to watch it.

When I saw a screencap of that, I really thought it was fake.
I knew it was too good to be true. (:_(

New trailer:

This just isn't appealing to me like other Marvel movies have. I think part of it has to do with Brie Larson's seeming like of enthusiasm in the role: she doesn't come off like she's truly committed to the role. I don't wanna turn this into a Marvel vs. DC thing, but in contrast, Jason Momoa at least seems like he's enjoying himself in the Aquaman trailers (it's just so weird that I'm more convinced by him as his respective character thus far than a fucking Oscar winner).

Scowling emotionless action girl is a trope I'm really starting to get tired of. You can be cool and tough without being a bitch.

Am I missing some comics reference? What was up with the cat at the end?

Is that a nugget for the fans, or a poor attempt at humor?

Honestly I may sound like a contrarian but the movie just looks to be just a mediocre movie, nothing to get worked up over. Plus I am fine with Captain Marvel not being as emotional as the other heroes since that at least means they aren't going to make her Captain Quip like they've done for a lot of the other Marvel leads.

My reaction: "Hell yeah, I'm excited for Skrulls and more Nick Fury."

Also my reaction: "This looks so much like Green Lantern ..."

First thing I said when the trailer ended: "Ok fine, but where's the Avengers 4 trailer, you jerks?"

It's from the comics ... In a big way.

I for real fnearly feel asleep despite being annoyed (Looks like the Kree being an imperialistic race has been erased, she has no personality and reminder Mar-Vell waqs erased for this shit)

It's a skrull and that's supposed to be a joke

I can't get the new Godzilla trailer until Marvel ponies up the new Avengers trailer because Legendary doesn't want to ruin any hype. So they need to hurry the hell up instead of wasting everyone's time with a B-grade film in its roster.

I have a feeling that Captain Marvel may come off like The Force Awakens: a mysterious girl is found and it's revealed that she's an ultimate powerful being. I could even see Nick Fury as Finn and Carol Danvers as Rey.

Like Wonder Woman. Gal Gadot may not be the best actress, but she put more heart and effort into the role than Larson did for this.

I didn't like this trailer as much as the first one. I'm still decently excited about the movie, but I am a bit concerned as to whether or not it will be as good as other MCU films. At the very least, I'm confident that it won't be a dumpster fire.

I mean, the Kree in the MCU thus far have been portrayed as pretty imperialistic. My assumption, based on everything that we know so far, is that Yon-Rogg (who Jude Law is supposedly playing) has been lying to Carol about the true goals etc of the Kree.

they totally nailed her charcter. She is just as boring and emotionless in her comics that have to be reeboted every year.
