A heated row has broken out over a move by Britain's largest bakery chain to launch a vegan sausage roll.

The pastry, which is filled with a meat substitute and encased in 96 pastry layers, is available in 950 Greggs stores across the country.

It was promised after 20,000 people signed a petition calling for the snack to be launched to accommodate plant-based diet eaters.

But the vegan sausage roll's launch has been greeted by a mixed reaction: Some consumers welcomed it, while others voiced their objections.

Cook and food poverty campaigner Jack Monroe declared she was "frantically googling to see what time my nearest opens tomorrow morning because I will be outside".

While TV writer Brydie Lee-Kennedy called herself "very pro the Greggs vegan sausage roll because anything that wrenches veganism back from the 'clean eating' wellness folk is a good thing".

One Twitter user wrote that finding vegan sausage rolls missing from a store in Corby had "ruined my morning".

Another said: "My son is allergic to dairy products which means I can't really go to Greggs when he's with me. Now I can. Thank you vegans."

TV presenter Piers Morgan led the charge of those outraged by the new roll.

"Nobody was waiting for a vegan bloody sausage, you PC-ravaged clowns," he wrote on Twitter.

Mr Morgan later complained at receiving "howling abuse from vegans", adding: "I get it, you're all hangry. I would be too if I only ate plants and gruel."

Another Twitter user said: "I really struggle to believe that 20,000 vegans are that desperate to eat in a Greggs."

"You don't paint a mustach (sic) on the Mona Lisa and you don't mess with the perfect sausage roll," one quipped.

Journalist Nooruddean Choudry suggested Greggs introduce a halal steak bake to "crank the fume levels right up to 11".

The bakery chain told concerned customers that "change is good" and that there would "always be a classic sausage roll".

It comes on the same day McDonald's launched its first vegetarian "Happy Meal", designed for children.

The new dish comes with a "veggie wrap", instead of the usual chicken or beef option.

It should be noted that Piers Morgan and Greggs share the same PR firm, so I'm thinking this is some serious faux outrage and South Park KKK gambiting here.

Funnily enough where I live in "da norf" they ignored the Paki problem for decades when it was obvious in hindsight it was coming since 97 and now it is quite literally impossible to get rid of them as they now out number and out vote the natives. I used to be a lot more out spoken about the paki problem but no one else around here wants to lift a finger about it or I get actively attacked over it so now I've decided to leave them to their misery (though they'll still complain about it in private). It's so bad now that I counted only 2 white people in the town centre (excluding myself) and the rest was just browns.

We used to have Pols but they all left long ago, now it's just jeets and we've began getting Albanians and blacks so the crime rates surged upwards, almost got mugged once by a gang of them.

I'm filling out my passport and I plan to get a work permit literally any where but here. There's a difference between being a coward and being suicidal and I don't plan to throw myself against the juggernaut which is the UK government and those who play defence for it whilst everyone else sticks to their bread and circus and watches.
Many such stories and many such cases. I was a die 'ard "liv ere til I die." "if a die abroad, ship mi body back 'ome". Now i don't care. I'm not paying tax money to a government that hates us.

Family was all that kept me here but now there all for me leaving, if anything they encourage it as they know what's coming and there isn't anything for us left here.

As for where I'll go, I've got a few ideas but once I leave then I do not intend to come back.

Maybe I'm the asshole here, but the 'right wing, anti Muslim, anti immigrant party' having a key member be a Muslim Immigrant, says to me that perhaps Nigel is full of shit; and that if he wins, he's going to yet again knife people in the back. Hate.
No, you certainly aren't an asshole for being scared.

Whilst I will vote for Nigel before any of the others (who are all way worse options) I do take on board and accept a lot of the criticism about him. The sun (not the paper) doesn't shine out of his arse and I know that he's not the messiah.

However, what can I or anybody else do - the fact is that there's no mainstream alternative with Britain First etc. (whom I do approve of) unlikely to take on Reform UK. UKIP are dead in the water and nobody's seen the BNP or NF for ages. This isn't Nigel's fault, though he has profited from it - it's the fault of toxic woke politics amplifying his cause with all the 'OMG Nigel is evil' crap.

They turned a former metals trader from Dulwich into a superstar, and now they can't control him or the movement - which is arguably more important than Nigel.

Nigel will only do a few years, if elected as PM, and it's what and also more importantly who comes after him who will either make or break the party. At least if the woke narrative is finally broken and we get back to some semblance of normality, that itself would be great - lower the cost of living and keep spending at sensible rates.

Maybe I am instead the asshole for backing a possible snake, but possible snake v real snakes... hmm.

Anyway, whether we're going to back Nigel or not, one thing is crystal - none of us will back Starmer and what a shoeing he got from the England fans earlier in Barcelona:

A bunch of you have raised the similar point of how people have known what would happen for literally decades, but were effectively isolated from society if they spoke up about it. Even some of the posts from last year regarding the riots which resulted in prison time were fairly 'tame' in comparison to the real bubbling anger under the surface.

The big government fear is that Big Baz, who said in 2003 that Pakis were going to ruin his town and got arrested for hate crimes over it and got a criminal record... were right. What happens then? Their careers and life trajectories have been irreversibly harmed by voicing something that was correct. They don't get compensated for going to jail or doing forced unpaid work or going to probation for a year.

The same shit pops up with Brexit because everyone assumes Big Baz, whose highest educational achievement was an E in Art at GCSE level is stupid and completely incapable of understanding long term planning. Big Baz notices that the town centre is dirtier and scruffier now darkies are milling about, Big Baz knows that if local tradesmen get priced out by Polish blokes then they'll move out of the trades and you'll lose vital skills when the Polish blokes inevitably fuck back off to Poland after making good cash. Big Baz knows that getting a bunch of EU doctors and nurses means that their niece who is training to become a doctor won't be able to get a placement once she finishes training. Big Baz knows that the Paki shop down the road is a money laundering front for drugs and crime would go down in the area if he was put on a plane back to Pakistan. Big Baz is capable of realising that if a Syrian stays in Germany for 5 years they become 'German' so have freedom of movement across the EU if we leave the EU we won't get those third world ragheads who are a net drain on society.

So Big Baz voted to leave the EU.

But because Big Baz didn't get good grades in school, go to higher education then university and then get a cushy job where he doesn't have to encounter a single member of the public on a day to day basis, Big Baz's opinion is worthless. Plus his opinion can't be right, because if he's right then a lot of politicians who have spent their entire working lives in politics (bar an apprenticeship at The Guardian while mummy and daddy let them stay with them rent free) are wrong. It's one thing to be outwitted by your peer who went to Oxbridge like you, but to be outsmarted by some working class filth?

So when they're wrong they actually have a good way of dealing with it: Gaslighting everyone into thinking that black is white.

There's a really sinister level of 'correcting' the masses on issues like this, from how crimes by immigrants are reported (Abdul from Chorley Cross), or two tier policing, or carefully using misleading statistics (GDP instead of GDP per capita) or barring wrongthinkers from certain jobs (you can't join the police or sections of the government if you've ever been a member of the BNP for example) but you can only paper over the cracks for so long before public anger goes past the tipping point and we've clearly reached that with Reform polling so highly.

So imagine Big Baz looking at everything from the past 20 years and how the public are finally starting to become on his side. A combination of anger for being treated like scum for decades and relief for finally being proven right. I hope Big Baz gets to watch the UK course correct from the comfort of his council flat and not from a prison cell.

Fucking love Big Baz.

I remember back in the day when Nick Griffin leader of the BNP was on Question Time. And they got that negress on and the whole panel and audience turned it into an opportunity to showcase just what kind of right-on good people they were. I remember my moron cousin bragging about how they did the right thing by watching Question Time and laughing at Nick Griffin. And how jolly good it is that we all get on. That's what people were like in the middle classes. They thought they were sticking it to the terrible racists by watching a tv show on the BBC.

I used to watch the speeches by Johnathan Bowden of the BNP on the early internet, which were held in rooms that could be rented above pubs. Guywas a great speaker and even back then I knew that they were right, but the imagery would never be accepted by the moronic middle classes. The imagery was too, Big Baz. I'm grew up of the solidly middle classes, but trying to get the morons around me to realise the time to act before it was too late has always been a nightmare. Back then they made a song and dance in the press about firing teachers who were in the BNP.

People can't project their mind forward in time enough. They think, well its not so bad now. But the point is, by the time it is too bad, it is too late.

Back in the mid 90s I remember that the bbc would go after anyone using words like "flood" to describe immigration, but it was a flood back then. and hasn't stopped. It's hard for people to understand that every prime minister since the war, and their beloved Queen, they are all traitors. They really are.

People wold rather have their own country be taken over by hordes of Muslims and Africans than be thought of as a racist. That is how pathetic people are..

Fucking love me Big Baz. Wish we had more of them. Enoch too.

What bothers me the most about this is that every single time they've had the chance, the UK has voted, overwhelmingly, to stop this shit - only to be betrayed and fucked over every single time.

And while the usual British optimism has kept many of them from speaking up about it, they've noticed. they've noticed for some time. The mainstream narrative fawgs won't acknowledge it, but you can't fucking do this shit forever. They are literally taking peaceful resolution off the table so they can continue this madness, knowing full well that it's fucking the entire country over - and for what, exactly?

To keep the fucking welfare state running? To fill some assfuck's ideal of what a multicultural society "should" be? For EU Hot Pockets and PolicyBux? Any reason that makes a modicum of sense to people with functioning fucking senses of causality and common sense?

This is going to come to a head, and when it does, nothing is going to be able to stop it.

When it get's to the point where it is about to come to a head, cannabis will be legalised. I believe it's one of the ideas that Khaaaaaaaan(!) will ride on, after implementing it in London.
Legalised cannabis bought some of the shit holes in America about 10 years of neutralised masses.

It would keep the lower orders docile and raise a ton in taxes (if they don’t do it the retarded Californian way) so in surprised they haven’t floated it properly.

Personally I think it should be legal to smoke privately but any one who smokes it in public should be hanged from the nearest lamppost.

I agree and I am, and have been for a long time, a supporter of legalising cannabis. If drug dealers, black market enjoyers and paki weed-peddlers are making billions in selling it illegally then the government may as well be making that money to pay for NHS, police, schools, pot holes asylum hotels.
PL - I wrote a letter to David Cameron in 2015 highlighting how cannabis can generate a lot of revenue while keeping him/the tories, popular enough with the common man who were suffering through austerity.

To any MI5/6 reading, a stoned population would not want to riot.

Another thing, which has been something I've noticed in America, is that the cannabis post-legalization is incredibly potent. Way more so than it was before, and I'm not just saying that because I'm getting old. I don't even know how people function on what is sold now, except maybe that they've been smoking for years and years and their tolerance is through the roof.

That's interesting because I've heard for 20 years how cannabis in the UK is getting stronger and more potent, but that doesn't reflect what I've been told. I don't doubt it has become more potent as a way of hooking people onto a non-addictive drug, especially after legalisation, but I wonder how much of it is a cover. I see little about the collapse in price of coke and the abundance of it compared to twenty years ago.
The UK is the largest exported of medical cannabis in the world. Somewhere, on our tiny island, we have hidden cannabis farms all over the shop, which could easily be converted into home grown supply.

This is how Spain do it. There are extremely heavy fines for selling it and smoking in public, but you can grow three plants and smoke your balls off in private.

Legalising weed in the UK would be like banning handguns in California.
Congratulations, you just made your own side worse.
I used to be all for legalisation, until I had the spend the better part of two years with some twat smoking weed in the alley behind my house. Total stoner death.

I will compromise on decriminalisation. Fine then a painful amount for every toke, sure, but sending them to prison just makes them into real criminals.

That's because there's no other option. The reality is the empire's over, you had to give up everything after losing the second world war and have been spending assets to maintain the illusion that you won.

Economically it's not pakis niggers or polaks causing the problem, they're just the band-aid needed to perpetuate the cope.

Voting for time travel doesn't mean you're going to get a time machine, stop being so fucking retarded.

What's retarded is people like you jumping in to a discussion to whine about irrelevant bullshit while fundamentally misunderstanding what you're talking about. Your entire post can be boiled down to "give up, stop trying, give up, let the pakis win, GIVE UP".

Go back.

I don't think that's entirely fair. We ARE living in a delusion in many ways. We want healthcare for everyone and gorgeous infrastructure but what do we actually make? How much of our population is now the laptop class as opposed to those who actually make or provide something? It's not even an Empire thing. In Victorian times there were slums aplenty and as much crime and brutality as you could ever wish for. And that was with wealth pouring in and infinite opportunities for young men to join the navy or the army and go abroad and steal more stuff.

Now if he's saying that's all the problems are, and that there's nothing that can be done and it's nothing to do with political leaders going back to Blair or earlier, he's wrong and I'll disagree as much as anyone. But we have indeed been taking on ever more debt year after year, whilst behaving like we're not. Bring back manufacturing, cut back on the wind farms and the ten billion plus we throw away on useless vaccines and all the rest of it.

It can be a little of both.

Nah, he's not coming from a rational position. His entire argument boils down to "the british are stupid and deserve their fate". He takes "we have been trying to fix this problem democratically and are at the end of our tether" and reframes it as "lol you're stupid voting for a time machine just give up and die".
