I also just noticed what a stupid name "Chessboard" or anything chess-related is for something that computes probabilities. Chess has nothing whatsoever to do with probabilities.
This is the person who claimed "If you assume that 99 percent of death and rape threats are simply bluster, I currently have a 45 percent chance of being murdered" because she claims to have received 45 death threats. I don't think she really understands probability.

I remember reading somewhere that Wu had originally wanted some kind of Alice in Wonderland reference for the organization until some silly sane person convinced her that canard was overdone. As it is, I think we're better off rooting for Fifth Column. They at least understand body armor.

BONUS FUN NOTE! Before Wu closed the Steam Rev60 forum, I asked her why the game didn't have a Mass Effect/Dragon Age/FFXIII-esque codex for in-game lore. This could have been done to enrich the world of Revolution 60 a bit more and help establish context about everything in it, giving insights into technology, personnel, organizations, et al - you know, all stuff that Rev 60's little promo docco failed to do. There was a few posts from Wu supporters who immediately took issue with my bringing up that half the content in said document doesn't appear in the game, but then, the impossible happened:

One of Wu's mods deigned to talk to this cis het scum.

Essentially, it was explained that Wu had actually wanted to include a codex or the like for in-game stuff, but that they had "run out of time" before release, and that it had been planned for the sequel.

Though you Kiwis would get a smile out of that.

On that note, my god would I love to see a sequel of R60. I want to see how little improvement there'll be and how outlandishly hard the team tries to add 'diversity'.

If one assumed that 1 percent of death threats were legitimate, and inevitably resulted in murder, the probability would actually be around 36.4%.

Also looking at that review, the assessment that men “want to attack as fast as possible” is hilariously off. Just think of how many games (Metal Gear Solid, Final Fantasy, Pokemon, even the haven of misogyny that is Hitman) where the idea is to first assess and analyse an unfamiliar enemy or know exactly what everyone does and when, while “attacking as fast as possible” will just get you just as far as it would for DSP.

I thought it had to do with Checkmate, a DC comics spy organization with Chess motifs. There was all knowing AI that wanted to kill all the superhumans but it was not the leader of the organization.

I always took it to be a knock off referencing those chess-playing computers that could beat humans, because they calculated the probabilities of the opponent's next move and planned accordingly.

I'm surprised you didn't get somebody telling you to just buy the damn book that literally was exactly what you describe here, except also extra cost for shit not even mentioned in the game for the most part.

I'm guessing that the review's author also might think The Sorrow from MGS3 is basically the most evil man ever born because his "boss fight" is literally chucking an endless stream of enemies in your way and you can't even punch them...but only if you play MGS3 the way he says men play any shooter game. It's entirely possible to not kill anybody before The Sorrow "battle" including the bosses (drain their endurance instead of health, though they kind of die by their own hand anyway...or The End just fucking dies of old age if you get to his fight and then don't play the game until two weeks later) and it makes The Sorrow literally the easiest boss in the entire franchise (even more than basically ALL OF THEM in the first Metal Gear as the Guided Missile basically is the instant win button).

@Optimus Prime Crap I crapped up the wording! I meant that was what Wu herself apparently thought. If anything the reviewer was making fun of that.
"Thanks, Wu. My delicate womanly digits will forever be safe from the tyranny of those dangerous action games."

Revolution 60 is supposed to be an action RPG with game-changing choices, strong female characters who don’t need no man, and an intense plot sure to go down in iOS gaming history. I love representation as much as the next girl, but there’s representation and then there’s pandering to a specific percentage of an audience. The result is an insipid, stumbling, humorless mess of a game that should never have left the brainstorming stage – the kind of game social justice warriors insist everyone wants to see, but in reality, the reaction seems to be put that thing back where it came from or so help me.

God bless. This is ... beautiful.

Chase the character that was briefly mentioned in the game and appeared as a silhouette in the book is slated to be in the sequel, as both a man and an Asian. I"m also expecting all the same enemies in their white armor again.

So... Chase is going to be Frank Wu's self-insert?

I'd really like to know what Brianna's definition of being a woman is. I don't even know what "being a woman" means and I was born female. :|

Great. Now you'll get to "enjoy" watching Brianna's self-insert interact with Frank's self-insert. Does that mean we'll be getting a creepy QTE sex scene?

Probably shouting that you're a woman loudly.

That and tits and a vag.
