Bolsonaro wins

I figured I'd start this thread in a similar manner to the Swedish one, about a topic of considerable importance this weekend which we all forgot about.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Brazilian_general_election,_2018
General elections are scheduled to be held in Brazil on 7 October 2018 to elect the President, Vice President and the National Congress. Elections for state Governors and Vice Governors, state Legislative Assemblies and Federal District Legislative Chamber will be held at the same time.

So, who do you think is going to win? Will @AN/ALR56 come back to life and educate us? Polls looks quite good for Bolsonaro as God-Emperor of the southern half of the New World.

I don't take the commies seriously when they always say in every far right election "This man is literally about to build gas chambers!"

He could actually be Jair "lets get this shoah on the road" Bolsonaro, but the left always cries wolf, or in this case "next Hitler!" So the general public will never believe them.

To any Brazilians here, how much of a truly "far right" candidate is this guy? I've been reading articles from most of the major MSM sources, and one red flag that I'm seeing is that they all repeat the same 5-6 quotes, some of which decades old, which usually isn't a good sign. He also seems to have a lot of black support for someone who is allegedly fiercely anti-black.

Is he as anti-LGBT as they're trying to paint him, or are they mostly old quotes that he's backed off from? Does he actually support dictatorship and the murder/imprisonment of political dissidents, or is that just dishonest framing and lying as they've done to others?
To me, so far he ranks about 1-2 steps below Rody Duterte. Duterte has said much more problematic stuff, he went as far as to call Obama a "son of a whore". Still, we'll have to wait for him to finally start ruling to see how he fares.

I've seen claims that many of the hard right-wingers in Brazil loathe Bolsonaro because he appeals to evangelicals instead of traditionalist catholics.

How true is that?

Has anyone posted his Wikipedia page yet?

https://en.m.wikiquote.org/wiki/Jair_Bolsonaro

I've never seen a more biased page before. Absolutely devoid of any real info and clearly made for one purpose.
A lot of these quotes are pretty scary, especially the ones about supporting previous dictatorships and wishing that they'd killed more people. The one about abolishing secularism because "the (religious) minority must bow to the majority" sounds pretty awful, and was apparently made just this February. His comments about beating gay people would be enough to make me genuinely fearful if I lived in Brazil, though I saw at least one article say that he has recently retracted most of his harshest comments against us.

Over all I'm having a hard time making up my mind, because most of these quotes do appear extremely damning even without any context, but experience has taught me not to underestimate MSM's ability to distort things or even outright lie about what people actually said.

Just on the last month Bolsonaro received 2 gays and a lesbian at his home:

Reminder this prick stormed off a news show about the Pulse shooting when the hosts spoke about how they felt people might be worried about going to the club with friends rather than making it a gay rights issue.

Owen is a useless drunken prick that pontificates for The Guardian and is an idependant contractor writer so said newspaper doesn't have to pay taxes, in a newspaper which frequently rails about people pulling this shit and not paying taxes.

He's also been desperately been trying to get back into Seamus Milnes pants who is the labour party leaders gatekeeper and an unrepentant Stalinist.

So was electing this guy a good or bad thing? I haven't been keeping up on this.
It's too early to tell, but they needed some big time leadership changes after the multiple corrupt administrations they just had.
