Bolsonaro wins

I figured I'd start this thread in a similar manner to the Swedish one, about a topic of considerable importance this weekend which we all forgot about.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Brazilian_general_election,_2018
General elections are scheduled to be held in Brazil on 7 October 2018 to elect the President, Vice President and the National Congress. Elections for state Governors and Vice Governors, state Legislative Assemblies and Federal District Legislative Chamber will be held at the same time.

So, who do you think is going to win? Will @AN/ALR56 come back to life and educate us? Polls looks quite good for Bolsonaro as God-Emperor of the southern half of the New World.

The foreign reeing about the amazon rainforest subject is so fuckin stupid that was never even brought as a major political subject by the opposition or by the brazilian media.

I have no idea who is coordinating the messaging but they've been pushing that really hard on reddit and twitter. I think it's the Democrats realizing climate change is the only thing other than immigration that they can oppose the Republicans on.

Lula, Rousseff & the PT are responsible for the rise of Bolsonaro. They completely betrayed every single one of their ideals and stabbed not just their base but the entire fucking country in the back. Back at their first election, they had the popularity, the legitimacy and the cadres to turn this shit upside down, even if with a mildly developmentalist programme, but no, they had to go and use their positions to become rich. Further, the current situation could still have been avoided, but they had invited the old elites they displaced back to the trough, and they essentially set up their own exclusive pigsty, and that was their doom. One of the most common cries of anti-PT demagogues is that "they only help themselves". This began with Lula. He just increased social expenditure to barely sane levels, which was enough to lift a lot of people out of poverty – but the old elites want neither an increase in social spending nor a decrease in poverty, so…

Brazil's problems stems from an elite unwilling to make Brazil into anything resembling a sovereign state or to assume its role into the big boys club. Most of them are still salty over Getulio Vargas rule.

Congratulations you pig-Spanish speaking abhumans! We'll send down some flight instruction manuals for your helicopters - excuse me, "thunder sky-birds" - in pornographic comic book pictorial form and you'll be throwing communists into the sea in a matter of days!

Brazil only needs to put a massive dome over the Favelas and drop Commies in there.

Make the Thunderdome real!

So was electing this guy a good or bad thing? I haven't been keeping up on this.

Today has been a good day.
While Jair Bolsonaro's victory has been good news, PT's candidate Fernando Haddad refused to even congratulate the dude, instead saying he was the only solution for the country's problems and the old monologue about Lula being politically persecuted by a non-existant elite.
God, these guys don't know how to win. I hope Bolsonaro makes this country more bearable to live in Although I am frankly disappointed that I am not going to get that concentration camp guard job anytime soon.

Also:
WASHINGTON (Reuters) - U.S. President Donald Trump called Brazil’s President-elect Jair Bolsonaro on Sunday to congratulate him on his election victory and both men expressed a strong commitment to work together, the White House said.

Trump and Bolsonaro agreed to “work side-by-side to improve the lives of the people of the United States and Brazil, and as regional leaders, of the Americas,” White House spokeswoman Sarah Sanders said in a statement.

I was waiting for this in tweet form for maximum triggering. Alas. At least there is the twitter tweet chain ... (archive.is).

I have my reservations about Bolsonaro but like with Trump the sheer amount of schadenfreude I get from seeing screeching leftists and literal communists is already winning me over. Bonus points for an SA pinkoid goon unironically saying anyone else doesn't understand true suffering and will break easily.
