You think that this will change something in their next projects or they will only release some awaiting new projects(like Sims 5 and Dragon Age IV) to make the consumer forget that shitshow.

Rumor has it EA actively refuses to approve games unless they have a multiplayer component and included micro transactions so yea more shit. Actually it's not much of a rumor, CDPR said in an interview they pitched Witcher 3 to EA and they turned it down due to lack of multiplayer.

I wouldn't get too optimistic. There's a million reasons why a stock moves and executives could completely downplay it, internalizing the idea that it was unrelated to Battlefield. This is also the same company that said their sales projections weren't affected when the Star Wars Battlefront microtransactions blew up in their face.

Stockholders don't really care about the SJW shit, they care about a major studio head leaving and Belgium (and possibly others) banning blind-box microtransactions. Meanwhile Activision's stock has a hype cycle around it since people are betting on BlackOps Battle Royale becoming a Fortnite/PUBG killer. If you're looking at your game industry portfolio you might want to pull some money out of a droopy looking stock like EA and put it into Activision which is making new highs.

Bounced off the first Fibonacci retracement level, if it doesn't bounce back to at least where it was by end of tomorrow...

Yeah, tbh I understand them, they have fifa and other sport games giving them millions, I doubt one or two disaster would affect the company to change their mentality.

Good point.

Althought I think the next BR hit is going to be one who have sword, magic and other fantasy element, Activision is surprisingly doing a good job with BO4.

I get that I'm a bit late, but I still think it needs to be added how much of this brouhaha could have been avoided if Dice and EA was willing to compromise by having a alternate history or fantasy version of the world war.
Considering how Wolfenstein completely dropped the ball with New Colossus it would be the perfect time to one up both Bethesda and Activision at the same time.
We all know a lot of this is being done because microtransaction and customization is where it's at these days, and if Dice isn't willing to have authentic customization then perhaps they should have considered the option that lets them add actual cyborg soldiers and magical nazis

End of week market close. Having fun drawing meme lines on the EA chart, I'm not even trading it. To be fair, the whole NASDAQ was red today.

The streamers I watched play the BFV alpha/beta were bored as fuck after a couple of hours, which is a bad sign because it means the game isn't fundamentally good enough to stimulate the powerful organic hype that elevates multiplayer titles to huge successes these days. Inversely, the Blackout beta had most of Twitch practically quivering with anticipation for an entire month and now that it's out it's doing pretty solid.

I don't know when BFV's BR mode is coming, but it doesn't look poised to capture more than a brief spate of attention before people return to COD, Fortnite and PUBG. If anything I think Blackout having vehicles and long-range combat basically neuters any edge BF might've had because vehicle- and distance-based gameplay was always what distinguished BF from COD.

Given it's just fucking CoD and has a tickrate of 10 I think that just means activision paid the streamers more money.

Nah, there's only been a handful of sponsored (i.e. pay to play) streams, and none of them were during the beta IIRC.

Which makes it funny that nearly every Battlefield V alpha/beta stream was in fact sponsored.

France was defended exclusively by Black French.

Battle of Kursk from the perspective of both German and soviet soldiers? Nah. Black soldiers defending France are the way to go. If they wanted a 'strong female' protagonists they could've come up with a few missions focusing on a Chinese partisan fighting Japanese soldiers who were raping and murdering their way through nanking

I don't want to seem overly melodramatic but

WW2 realism with women fighting, what in the fuck...

The only way to spin this correctly is if all the women in the game were Russians.

But Sjw’s don’t play video games. I don’t know why
Triple A companies are willing to gamble millions over diversity points when it simply doesn’t apply here.

Why is Mark Strong narrating this shit? Also wow look another 100 pound 5'3 woman beats up 6 foot muscle man with no issues. I'm really tried of that trope. If you're gonna have a woman fight hand to hand with a dude at least make her tall or somewhat built.

Except the whole point is to rewrite and "correct" History. These people genuinely believe they're on the right side of history and can do no wrong.

One thing i'll give uncharted is the female antagonist wasn't built like a stereotypical ''tough girl'' like they normally push
