Meanwhile, if you want “motivated by mother” done right, there’s always FullMetal Alchemist.
Late, but even the vanilla version of Persona 5 does this better, and one of the only reasons that game got an updated re-release was to make that motivation less of a random-ass clusterfuck.

Imagine having a worse "motivated by mother" plot than a game that had to be released twice just to fix their own.

Wait are you referring to Akechi?

Wait are you referring to Akechi?
Yes.

Tl;dr: The Royal version provides him with his own confidant that reveals that at least in the beginning before he went off his rocker, his primary motivation was avenging his mother who he was very close with.

I agree, WHAT.

I read the plot on Wikipedia, and I am
Both very confused and severely worried.

I think it might have been more entertaining to have it end with a movie. Think about it: not only would the ending be awful, but fans would have to pay to see it. Not to mention, without it being in theaters, we won't really be able to see the real-time reactions to the ending in-person.
I don't believe the ending will be awful or bad, I just want to end the story I have been following for over a decade already.

Anything will be good at this point.

...You didn't read the manga... did you? I've been thinking about trying to post a worse version of the ending. Maybe we could make it a competition.
No, I didn't. Tbh I'm not big on anime either, but AoT has been a series I started watching 10 years ago on impulse and I liked it, so I desperately want to see it end.

Only animes I watched were Death Note, AoT and the Persona 3 movies.

I won't spoil the ending for you, but its legendarily bad in the manga version. And frankly I can't really see how the anime could avoid that terrible ending at this point since they have committed to every other terrible story point in the manga for the anime.

Probably fatigue at this point. The backstory of how Titans were created was incredibly stupid, rushed and made no sense from a logical rational point, however as is the spirit of AoT every single thing in the universe must be explained.

I hope for an ending. Good or bad, for me (who I'm not picky) any ending will be satisfying.

Unless they make Eren fuck Armin or something retarded like that, I'll be ok. I'm still having flashbackd from the Castlevania season 3 ending where Alucard gets fucked in the ass for no reason.

Why don't I see if I can make the ending worse? It'll be similar to the manga ending, so I can spoiler it.
Everything is the same up until the end, but we get to see the lives of the alliance afterwards. Pieck, Reiner, Gabi, Falco, and Annie return to the mainland, but are now homeless and they and their families are destitute and facing starvation like many others. Instead of celebrating their stopping the Rumbling the other mainlanders are too focused on surviving and don't really appreciate their only saving 20% of the world. Some even blame them, which makes Reiner realize that the Rumbling was partly his fault and worsens his suicidal outlook. The Paradis side of the alliance comes to the mainland to join up for peace talks, but they fail. They crowd points out that Paradis is building up their armies, blames Eldians, and maligns them as devils.

The entire alliance returns to Paradis, as in the manga. Historia tries to have them protected from an angry populace, but Pieck winds up getting lynched. Historia imprisons those responsible, but this backfires, since the power of the titans is gone, she doesn't have the same kind of claim to the throne she had before. There is another coup, Historia is killed and force-fed to her daughter for irony's sake, who is later also killed. Most of the rest of the alliance are killed off now that Historia is gone. Annie flees Paradis and tells the mainlanders about this. She also finds that her father died of starvation while she was gone. She winds up too depressed to go on and wastes away until she dies.

Reiner, Mikasa, and Jean run away to the woods and hide, where they spend the rest of their lives. It's left open up to interpretation what happens to Reiner. Mikasa and Jean have a child, which Mikasa decides to name after Eren to honor him. Years pass, and eventually Mikasa succumbs to old age and dies she is buried next to Eren instead of Jean.

As generations pass, the rest of world recovers and Paradis is carpet-bombed. The descendant of Mikasa we see at the end of the Manga is shown staring at a tree. Suddenly, a pig appears and a pigeon swoops down on its head. She is told that they are Eren and Mikasa and they guide her to the tree telling her that worm-kun the source of the power of the titans resides there and she is free to do with as she wills. Instead of taking the power for herself, she decides to destroy it once and for all and poisons the water, killing worm-kun. The story the proceeds to blatantly rip off the Ending of Platinum End. Without the "Source of All Living Matter," all life on Earth vanishes and people disappear out of their clothes.

We then cut to Gothkasa, Armin, and Eren in a theater. Gothkasa liked the movie, but Armin disliked and called it nonsensical. Eren says he liked being able to watch it with his friends and jokingly calls Armin a nerd for getting worked up over a movie. "No refunds," he teases.

The end.

There you have it. In my version, most of Eren's friends die before the Curse of Ymir would have killed them, so everything he did was for nothing and only made things worse. It even results in ripping off another bad anime ending and results in the total destruction of life on Earth.

So what do you think? How would you rate my destruction of the manga through this ending? Do you think you can do worse? Feel free to try to outdo the manga with your own ending.

Nah because that ending would be loved by Eren fanboys, I can do worse that would piss off everyone in the Attack on Titan fanbase

Pretty much the same shit but Eren pisses and shits himself while crying how Mikasa would never bone him while Armin just watches and does nothing.

When we cut to the present, Mikasa carries Eren's head but it's taken before she could bury it as literally everyone decides to have a soccer game using Eren's head as the ball. Mikasa shrugs her shoulders and just has a steamy kiss with Jean as Armin laughs it off.

Everyone sees the force ghosts, but right after Eren is among them and is crying at Mikasa kissing Jean, but then the rest of the force ghosts take him away and proceed to endure him to many tortures for thousands of years. Floch and Zeke are also punished with Eren as even the parents of both Yaegerbros join in. The last of Eren's screentime is his mom repeatedly hitting him with a shoe while his dad beats him with a belt as Zeke and Floch are both pelted by rocks.

Time passes and pretty much everything is the same but Mikasa becomes Jean's trophy wife and everything is still the same. When they get to Paradise, everyone on the island just drops their fascist ways for no reason, and they build a statue in Armin's honor as the entire world is in kumbaya as they move forward because Armin good, and the story becomes exceptionally happy.

Historia has a passionate kiss with Farmer-Kun and says he is the greatest man a queen could love, Farmer-Kun doesn't speak at all but gives a smile.

Everyone else in the cast hooks up, except for Connie who is later revealed to have gotten arrested after being in a romantic relationship with his mom.

Timeskip passes and then the last panel is a PSA for why war and racism are bad.

I think I got the worst idea:
Basically the original chapter 139, followed by a musical number involving all surviving characters the entire cast.

They could just make Eren commit to his plan, and either let him succeed or be killed in battle (not allowing himself to die on purpose).

The former would piss off Yeagerist haters who screech "fascist" with tears streaming down their eyes, so I'd prefer that if only to harvest more of said tears. The latter would placate most people because that'd still be an improvement over the way things actually happened.
