Yes, Bleach started because Kubo wanted to draw cool shit. Specifically shinigami in badass kimonos, who were originally going to use guns for maximum edge. He drew all the characters first and then made up the story from their designs. Also the fight scenes are heavily inspired by rock music apparently.

From my experience the closest thing to an actual, universally agreed-on "golden standard" is a manga, Berserk. But even as great as that is, it still can't appeal to everyone for obvious reasons.

I’ve also heard One Piece get nothing but praise. And Takehiko Inoue’s work.

Why couldn’t people just be cool with Isayama just trying to do his little zombie thing and leave it as that?

I hate One Piece, everything from the art style to its overly wacky shit, and the fact that it's fucking endless at over 1000 episodes. For reference, that's more than all of Dragon Ball, Dragon Ball Z, Dragon Ball GT, Dragon Ball Super, and even Super Dragon Ball Heroes--combined.

I like long series, but damn dude. Is he ever gonna become the hokage king or find his treasure balls or what?

Apparently it's pretty based though, mocking fags and trannies and shit, so that's cool.

Well shit, part three just got announced, and it's the final, final, this time for realz guyz tRuSt ThE pLaN season.

Not gonna lie, I'm actually bummed out it's not a movie. Me, and my friends had a whole day planned out dedicated to bar hopping all across town while getting shitfaced on every different kind of jaegerbomb we could find before eventually going into theater to see this trainwreck more wasted than this series' actual potential.

But no, this shit is being dragged out for a whole 'nother fucking year (the air date is some time in 2023), and I can't even have the joy of seeing Eren crying on the big screen while drunk off my ass.

Feels bad man. (:_(
I think it might have been more entertaining to have it end with a movie. Think about it: not only would the ending be awful, but fans would have to pay to see it. Not to mention, without it being in theaters, we won't really be able to see the real-time reactions to the ending in-person.

Isayama, if you're reading this, drag this out even more and force people to pay to see this. Hurt your audience one last time.

Anime's pacing is fucked because of Toei wanting to squeeze it dry, so stuff that in the manga was literally 2 panels turns into 2 minutes. I wouldnt recommend it to anyone. Manga is 1040+ chapters long but its great and not as "endless" as some people say. Wano is stalling like a motherfucker, but it seems we're gearing up towards the final arcs and eventual conclusion in the next 4-5 years.

In more light news, Isayama really shows a lot of improvement as an artist, guess Attack on Titan's best feature was to see one man get better as an artist.

So, it doesn't really make much of a difference I guess, but when Ymir disappeared was it because she changed the past? Or did she just will herself out of existence or something?

I remember she protected King Fritz in an earlier chapter, but then before she disappeared in the last one she had a flashback to King Fritz being killed instead of her. Was that just her imagination? Or did she basically do what Eren did when he convinced his dad to do something different in the past?

When Isayama wants to draw well, he draws pretty damn well. It kind of goes without saying that a lot what made the quality of his art shaky for a lot of AoT’s run is the brutal deadline schedule which all serialized mangaka are subject.

The dude really should have hired an assistant or two.

Happy Mother's Day! Pour one out for Carla whose entire story is the saddest one in the entire series.

She loved her son more than anything despite him clearly being born a monster, and that son not only killed her, but used the words she had said to express how much she loved him as justification to genocide the entire world.

Honestly the Yaeger moms have a sad life cause like even though Zeke's mom was not the best, Eren could've easily given her back her humanity through Founding Titan bullshit or having her eat Bertolt but it was more funny for him to watch her eat his mom.

If Carla had a grave, the ending would've had her rolling in it hard enough to rotate the earth. Poor woman.

Meanwhile, if you want “motivated by mother” done right, there’s always FullMetal Alchemist.
