It wasn't even cool. It defied common sense and the rules of their world. It was bullshit done to have Armin assume control. From chapter 12 or so I predicted Admin and or Jean would lead the Corps someday after serious serious development and perhaps a timeskip. The Armin that actually did, although the Corps was like 5 people now, was such a faggot that his IQ actually felt lower than pre-military Armin. It's such hack writing.

That's how she mentioned it in the manga, not saying her death was cool. But it was definitely bullshit just so the second worst character can get a promotion.

Who's first worst? Eren? I haven't seen it in the anime yet. I'd bet music and flashy things make the bullshit much more palatable. I still remember shitposting in /snk/ drawing bullshit diagrams about how her killing 2/3 titans shouldn't have realistically made a difference.

If anything I appreciate the series for the fallout and relentless shitposting. I miss earnest EHfags like you wouldn't believe. Now they're just mindbroken and angry.

It's Eren, he's a crayon eating retard in the post-timeskip era whose motivations are set up as this complex mystery box only for it to be revealed he's some insanely retarded incel who just fucks everyone over yet acts like what he does is the only way before anyone else could have a chance to make any sort of solution yet the story acts like he's some tragic hero who should have a hero's death. The story also acts like the Rumbling is the only solution despite the obvious fact that he and his brother strong-armed his country to essentially support one of their genocide plans.

I don't like how it deviated either. Since it was sort of gradual I didn't realize how much worse it got. In retrospect it took a nosedive with episode 60. I remember being confused and feeling like a chunk of the story was missing.

It arguably got worse as soon as the focus shifted to fighting humans. It could have worked if it developed better, I think.

I've said it many times before and I will say it again.

I quit watching Attack On Titan after the second season because I got distracted with a bunch of other shit. I always wanted to go back and catch up, but I kept putting it off.

Now I'm thankful for it.
 
I've literally never payed enough attention to Mikasa's tits to even notice a difference. The only difference I did notice is the new anime studio made her look much more masculine in general, which seems like is just an effect of having different artists.

By the way, I think it's funny the "similar threads" section shows "The Dumbest Plans in Fiction". Eren's definitely belongs there.

Probably. But also, I’ve never really cared enough to really check about her boobs, and everyone seems to agree Mikasa’s abs were/are the main attraction.

That's because the only actual "fanservice" scenes in this series only focus on abs. Never tits, or ass. Even in Mikasa's one.

The anime could have avoided this with a couple of changes:

Eren gets Ymir to side with him over Zeke in terms of revenge vs sterilization of her people but Ymir tells Eren it will come with a cost: his humanity. Eren agrees and when he turns into the creepy ass ribcage centipede Titan, his humanity is gone and he is now an irreversible beast only capable of destroying. No human consciousness or spirit. Just destroy.

Ymir turns her attention to Zeke, calling him a race traitor who will suffer an even WORSE fate than Eren as she basically turns him into her slave and forces her to do the announcement that Eren does declaring the outside world will die for the sins committed against Ymir's people.

Eren gets no dialogue for the rest of the series and is a mindless beast that must be destroyed. Replace the bit with Eren controlling the Titan horde and lost in the moment of "freedom" with Ymir forcing Zeke to watch and feel EVERY SINGLE DEAD MARLYAN being murdered as punishment for his race traitorist ways.

Ending becomes all about stopping the Titan horde and mercy killing Eren. No incel Eren ranting, instead we have Zeke screeching for someone to kill him, because he's being endlessly mindraped by being forced to experience every death caused by the Titan horde as punishment for his treachery while at the same time, is trapped in the Paths at the end of the series, with Levi denying him death to leave him to be trapped forever reliving the Rumbling and the carnage/deaths for eternity, as far as a fate worse than death.
