Full version of Rumbling is out, and not gonna lie, it sounded a little better in the shortened version. The later half was TOTALLY not what I was expected at all, kinda disappointed.

Eh, least the original version is still there, I just hoped that the full version would follow the good stuff that preceded it.

Agreed. The TV size version packed more of a punch and had all of the good stuff already in there. The only bit I particularly liked from the full version is "Nobody knows what's inside of me" as well as the slowed-down bit of "If I lose it all".

All in all, I don't dislike it, but it is a bit underwhelming considering the short version I loved.

What I'm wonder is: Why is a certain portion of the fandom so damn defensive of the ending? I've talked to some people who outright want to attack anyone who dares criticize Isayama's works like he is the second coming of Jesus. I mean damn dude, its a manga, calm down. It doesn't stop me from being disappointed by the ending. It isn't going to make me magically forget the cringeworthy "Thank you for becoming a mass murderer for our sake" line or the fact that Ymir somehow loved King Fritz despite what she went through in the past.

I'm assessing the monster fight anime somehow turned into a "b-but people are the real monsters!" cliché by the end. Am I correct?

I attributed that to what I call "new anime watchers", people who just got hooked at watching anime AND its fandoms. Usually it's kids or younger people, but you know how it is with the internet these days, bunch of manchildren

Sounds like a perfect microcosm of the series it was made for.

Essentially like it was that way from before the timeskip but then when it happened it became some weird World War shit

Only sorta interesting and cringe thing is that the main character becomes the villain at the end

It’s because “Muh themes” and the ending is just too smart for you

- AOT fans probably

Also the music they used for the Rumbling is actually really good

It's a problem with a lot of fandoms, people get overly invested in a series and can't admit that it went to shit. So anyone who criticizes it must either be a hater or simply too dumb to understand the story.

lol, imagine white-knighting a fucking manga. At least e-thots are theoretically bangable (as in they exist and probably have vaginas), Eren will never fuck you you retards.

Part of me knew in the interim months between parts 1 and 2 that they were never gonna be able to top Boku no Sensou, so I kept my expectations low. I was half-expecting Sound Horizon to come back to do the final OP though, if only as a twisted homage to how drastically different the story has become over the past ten years.

It really says a lot how both sides of the fandom are fucking stupid

Historia was apparently pro-rumbling even though she was explicitly not for it and only blackmailed due to Eren threatening to erase her memories

Historia just wanted to care for orphans, man. Also, not sure if "best trio" status is given because two people adhered to the code of omerta.

Yeah, the band's songs for anime tend to be like that. Just listen to the TV version, it's usually better

Coping mechanism. Still though some people have compared this to GoT and Lost as ending that killed the series legacy, there are still people defending AoT unlike the other two example. That said, the anime is still running, so the court of public opinion might shifted at later dates

There’s definitely still GoT copers who are convinced the book ending will be better. In a way they’re actually right, because the books will never be finished and no ending is preferable to the trash fire that was GoT Season 8.

I don't want to promote my own shitposts but man with the recent episode, this is appropriate to promote

[Eren inhales] Hello, all other males around the world. This is Eren Yeager – your Founding Titan – in Shiganshina District.

Now, listen here, and listen good. I have told you all. I've kept it going TIME AND TIME AGAIN, but you y'all keep putting it on and putting it on.

But... Mikasa Ackerman IS. MINE. Mikasa, needs – to– think– only– about-me! Even if I die, she needs to for 10 years at least!

Now... [Eren is ready to commit genocide] This is, the last, straw! Because for the GOOD, and SAFETY, of this timeline, you need to get your dicks AWAY FROM MIKASA AND WHEREVER ELSE ALL THE DANG FAR AWAY,

AND NEVER DATE MIKASA! MAKE SURE SHE NEVER DATES ANOTHER MALE AND NEVER, EVER THINK ABOUT ABOUT OTHER MALES AGAIN, AND SHE SHOULD MAKE HER OFFICIAL LOVE CONFESSION PUBLIC TELL EVERYBODY!

I am telling you this to warning you:

IF-YOU-CONTINUE-ON-AND-YOU-DO-NOT-LISTEN-TO-ME JEANNNNNNN!

And date Mikasa...

[Eren places his hand on his forehead, realizing he mixed up due to PATHs]

I m-mean you do...

YOU DO NOT DATE MIKASA, YOU CAN'T DATE HER! If you date her, you're going to put this ENTIRE TIMELINE in chaos! So, I'M GIVING YOU THIS, WARNING AND TELL YOU TRUE, AND STRAIGHT UP!

[Eren points intently at the camera]

ONLY DATE ME NOW, MIKASA! NOW!

[Eren pauses for a moment before deciding to commit worldly genocide after being family-zoned, leaving us with a haunting image before Eren decides to go through with his plan]

Off-topic, but I think the scene of Ymir's children eating her corpse is the one scene that actually looks better in the manga than it does in the anime.

It doesn't look bad in the anime, but it doesn't feel as disturbing. They censored it a bit, and while I had a feeling they were, the way they chose to do it removes a little bit of the rawness, and horror of what you're actually seeing unlike in the manga where Isayama's rough, and scratchy art actually improves upon that.

I will say that Ymir's actual death is drawn a lot better, though. The spear actually looks like a goddamn spear instead of pool stick like it does in the manga.
