The whole thing with Sasha and Niccolo was just dumb, sorry if anyone here actually liked it but it baffles me how people interpreted that shit as romantic or "deep" when it was literally just Sasha being her regular food-obsessed self. You can argue that it shows she was pure of heart and didn’t judge anyone but that’s really as far as it goes.

I think it's more of how simple it was and one of the few bright spots in the entire timeskip, both in terms of something hopeful even how little it was and one of the few instances of a non-eldian outside world character not being portrayed as a cartoony racist asshole.

I understand it, I kind of wanted him to win. But by no means would I consider him a hero. Its the same kind of mindset where in some stories you are rooting for the villain. In the case of AOT, I didn't like the power of friendship shit and I think a grittier ending where Eren wins would be far more interesting. Doesn't mean he is necessarily justified in what he's doing, but it would make for a more intriguing story

I think it’s more that Erenfags want to believe he’s doing what’s best for everyone because he was initially set up as the hero, so they’re deluding themselves into it. I never bothered looking at any Reddit threads or whatever because I frankly don’t care but I’d wager there’s also a bunch of “Here’s how Eren can still be talked down” copium from people who want to see him pull a 180 and surprise everyone by doing something actually heroic in the end. Eren dying wouldn't have accomplished anything and what he was doing was self defense. Instead of "deserved to die" he should have lived and tried to make the lives of others better.
The chances of an interesting ending were huge like there could have been an ending where he could have even gotten the worm attached to him, became the new founder and lived on for an eternity trying to make the world a better place after the rumbling. The possibility of kino was there but alas all we got was a garbage fanservice ending for mikasa fans.

The Rumbling as it is conducted is the most retarded plan ever simply because it's the equivalent of setting your house on fire just because you got into a fight with your roommate.

If it was conducted in any other way that didn't cause catastrophic ecological damage, then sure, be for the Rumbling. But it as it happens in the series, it is literally the worst plan ever.

I get what you mean, and I just wanna reiterate that there's nothing wrong with rooting for the bad guy. Bad guys, for the most part, are usually a lot more fun than the good guys.

The issue is being able to recognize what the bad guy is doing isn't right, and in Eren's case, even smart. That's what the problem is.

I liked the first AoT live action movie, there is an horror feel on it.
It is even funnier because it used modern equipment way before it was revealed that those also existed in the manga.

In their defense, Eren and Zeke simply escalated the time table as far as the Eldiens/Paradise inevitably being genocided and Eren in particular stopped Zeke's even worse plan to sterilize every Eldien because the cuntface didn't like how daddy didn't love him or parent him in the way that he felt he was entitled.

I've been quite vocal that if you are going to change shit, that the thing to change would be to have Eren start the rumbling but be instantly punished doing it via losing his humanity, his mind, and be irreversibly turned into a mindless beast who everyone would be OK to kill because anything remotely human was destroyed when he convinced Ymir to tell Zeke to fuck off and do Eren's plan instead.

It's a common trope in sci-fi/fantasy/horror that if you fuck around with Eldritch powers like the Titan Power, you run the risk of losing ANY humanity and becoming mentally like a random animal with no voice or human intellect. Just eating, fucking, killing and sleeping being the only things you want to do because you because your consciousness is no greater than a dog or snake's. And it would be the perfect end for Eren; who saw the Titans as mindless beasts of death in the beginning becoming that sort of thing at the moment of triumph so that he won't even get to enjoy the genocide he was going to carry out and that it removes ANY restraint that his friends would feel towards having murder be the solution to stopping Eren.

And instead of worrying about Eren's thoughts and feelings as he's committing genocide and trying to kill his friends and being shocked they don't agree with them, you can focus that screen time towards Zeke realizing that he is to blame for all of this and that Ymir hates him so much that she chose genocide (and lobotomizing Eren to best carry it out) than tolerating Zeke's beyond the pale "solution" to the Titan problem.
