Yeah, it was meh and I only watch part of it before taking care of more important things. I currently use a 12PM after previously having a OnePlus 8 that died on me after using it for 6 months (it was overheating and had screen burn-in). I rage bought the 12PM, and apart from a battery swap, it has been working out quite well for me. Granted I just miss having that good USB-C standard for everything that makes cable management quite a bit easier (once in a blue moon EU win). While I have been somewhat interested in the 15 series for USB-C and the camera (granted Samsung and Google do good zoom stuff already), I don't see a big reason to upgrade to the 15 series right now. I may eventually get it if they decided to become fully retarded and do a portless phone, but that's still a few years away at the very least. Lastly, I do want to see if they will increase the charge speed for the phones, but knowing apple it'll be limted to the pro series, or whatever they want to limit for next apple coomsumer iphone.

I am on the 12PM as well. Seriously considering a 15PM at the moment because of the camera and the fact that I am teetering on the edge of needing to replace the battery in my 12PM anyways. Apple will give me $450 for my 12PM which is almost half the cost of the 15PM so I just need to figure out if I want to keep going with a new battery for another year or just bite the bullet now.

I didnt watch the keynote but I saw clips of the 5 minute long "comedy" sketch and even mac consoomers are saying it was cringe.

After iOS 17 being released I'm not seeing any recent posts about Apple complying with the EU order to allow sideloading. If it is enabled it will probably only be available in the EU market but I can dream.

WTF I love the EU now?????

That titanic bureaucracy is doing work. Fucking finally. And hopefully it will have knockon for the whole world since apple won't make 2 Phones for different world regions.

If I already have a 12 Mini why would I get the 15? What's the selling point to "upgrade?"
There haven't been any "selling points" since they started presenting fucking memojis and other nonsense as major new features. Just get a new phone if your current one is super old and slow or gets smashed, feeling the need for annual "upgrades" is a mind disease.

I'm also happy with my 12 Mini, huge phones are retarded.

Yes the only reason the 15 has a USB-C port is to fall in line with an EU law demanding a "charging standard". They also have made it a law that tech companies such as Google, Mirosoft, Apple. Must allow 3rd party app stores and not restrict the installing of software through only a first party repo such as the Apple app store. Honestly the only thing I don't like about my iPhone is the lack of 3rd party app support.

Same, brother. I've had this 12 Mini for 2 years and never had an issue.

They already make loads of variants

Regional differences are baked in at multiple levels:
  • Dual physical SIM slots in China, physical plus eSIM elsewhere
  • Japanese handsets are rigged to always make camera sounds
  • European handsets are rigged to limit maximum headphone volume
  • North American basebands use different 5G frequencies to ROW
There’s also countryd system service which might restrict access to features based on geolocation and other techniques.

So they could lock it down if they chose to. But if they did, they could still be in trouble if someone claimed to have purchased the device within an EU country and it didn’t have the feature.

It will be interesting to say the least how Apple will try and fuck around with USB-C accessories out of spite. They really hate having to face an actual challenge or lasting consequence and make their nigger cattle suffer (more?) for it.

Supposedly, at least from what I've heard, charging speed is limited still to 20W on all of the new phones.

Apple doesn’t offer faster charging if you pay a subscription.
No, it really doesn't. I had to double check to be sure, but yeah, it actually doesn't support fast charging at all.
I was trying to dunk on them for being greedy Jews that milk you for micropayments for standard equipment, only to find they don't even have the standard equipment.

Holy fuck, who buys this Fisher Price garbage?
