@AnOminous The setting to control it is located at
Settings -> Battery -> Battery Health & Charging -> Optimised Battery Charging
The device will stay around 80% until about an hour before you usually take it off charge in the morning, then it will do the last 20%.

Looks like it's already on (I think I turned it on a while back) along with "Clean Energy Charging." I don't really have a set schedule charging it though so it doesn't seem to notify me of Optimized Charging very often. The latter might be why it's charging more slowly when on the charger. It takes several hours to charge on the Qi charger or plugged in, but only two at most in a car.

>start making iPhones in India
>proudly advertise that you're no longer using leather
I hadn't even considered that. Yeah, they probably wanted to avoid the possibility of newspaper stories in a couple years about how hundreds of their suppliers had been murdered by 'cow protectors' on suspicion of transporting leather.

I was looking for another laptop and saw this shit on the Best Buy website. It has to be an error right?

Or a really brazen scammer. I did a search for these general specs and everything came out at less than $300.

It says Geek Squad certified so Geek Squad might be trying to scam some clueless boomers. Also does Best Buy allow third party sellers like Amazon and Walmart?

Apart from Amazon or Walmart, what about Target?

Target seems to only sell stuff from their own inventory/warehouses.
One way you can tell is that Target doesn’t have a description that says “Sold By (Insert third party seller name here)”

Mean while on Walmart you can instantly tell that you’re buying from a third party seller

Enough about the new iPhones nothing is really different. Let's talk about old Mac devices.

I bought a Mac Pro 2013 the trash can one off some IT store on Ebay, they fucked up and sent me one with d700 GPUs in it.

They killed this device with Monetary being the last official release, running Ventura on it honestly kind of sucked performance lacked same with it on my 2011 Macbook Pro.

However the latest macOS version Sonoma restores the performance that Ventura lost. The Mac Pro running Sonoma beta with Open Core Legacy Patcher is still a very great computer you can get on the cheap used.

I've generally been really impressed with the Mac Mini models as one of the few somewhat reasonably priced lines they have. I also really liked the MacBook Pro with NVIDIA GeForce display adapters. I liked the MacBook line in general, although the Intel GPUs were lame as fuck.

Other than the original MacBook, though, I've never actually bought one retail, usually getting one used as some form of barter. Most of my PCs until my most recent one were also cobbled together from parts from other computers that I'd fixed. I once literally had one in a pizza box. An actual pizza box, not the case style called that.

My 2nd hand Mac Mini has been chugging along as a Plex media server for years, encoding 4K videos in real time perfectly fine. I hope to get another 5 to 6 years out of it. All I use it for is streaming Plex, downloading and managing media with Sonarr, Radarr etc.

Using a Mac Pro even though it's 10 years and had some minor cooling problems is still a pro computer. With a 12 core CPU duel AMD D700 fire pros adn 64gb of ram would make a perfect home server for under 300.

I still can't believe they did titanium again. Literally we had this exact same shit in like ~2002 when they released the titanium powerbook. The fact that they circled back to this retarded choice of material is staggering.

I actually liked the design of the trash can when I first saw it. Terrible design to use to replace the Pro but if they'd positioned it as their mid-prosumer range desktop (kinda like the Mac Studio is now) and kept the cheese grater mac pro, I think it would have been a hit.

Yeah getting rid of the full sized desktop was really dumb even though they're doing it again. The studio isn't mid range it's the same power as the current pro and the pro can't use GPUs anymore. I really hope they keep supporting intel for a good minute I really don't feel like making the move over to an arm based system.

Xeon-W hasn't kept pace with technology. Current-gen (Sapphire Rapids) Xeons are barely ahead of Zen 2 EPYC/Threadripper PROs from 2019. They're big, they're power-hungry, and they're just not that fast.

I had a 2016 space gray MacBook as my main laptop until I bought a used MSI Creator z16 hiroshi fujiwara

The 2019 Pros was a return to what people consider the best design and desktop Apple ever made. However they just weren't that great compared to the Pros of the past.
