If the sight of that makes you uncomfortable you should just not watch or read Berserk.

Cause you will see much more fucked up stuff than that. Like rape, death of children and what happens to Guts as a child.
I disagree with this as a general principle. It can matter if you're supposed to be disgusted by the fucked up stuff or not, if it's meant to be horrifying (e.g. homosexual child-on-child rape in MW) or "funny" (tee hee don't be late to school, don't forget to feed the cat, don't be alone with rapist grandpa, all normal parts of growing up ~*~*~*) or "titillating". I'd pick dead babies over that club-footed troon pose every time.

that is from his phase where he was trying to compete with Ishinomori and other Gekiga authors. He even talks about it in one of his afterwords I think in the end of my favorite work of his (Alabaster). He looks back at this with shame
I read Alabaster. Thank you for the recommendation. What a ride! The beginning is based as fuck
- nigger proposes to a woman, gets rejected
- strangles her
- she escapes
- he steals a car
- chases her despite not knowing how to drive
- kills a pedestrian, doesn't give a fuck about it
- gets 5 years in prison for killing the guy and driving without a license (not for attacking the woman or stealing the car)
- "bawww the world discriminates against me just because of my skin color"

I wish Tezuka showed more of the affected animals and humans, I love batshit visuals and I love when the author has the courage to completely overhaul the world and show the consequences.

So, the sailor stars arc is getting an adaptation, and I feel like the last two films were a low effort money grab. The series needs a definitive conclusion.

It'd be interesting to see their take on Sailor Stars. Haven't seen the Eternal movies, but I have watched Crystal. It'll probably be average and inoffensive at best.

The Eternal movies were nothing special, not awful but not great. They just exist. I don't expect Cosmos to be any different, and knowing how afraid Crystal is of showing graphic violence, I'm sure they're going to censor the fuck out of the deaths.

I started reading “Kaiju No 8” and have really enjoyed it. Rare to see what can be considered a shonen series where the protagonist is a dude in his 30’s.

Tezuka again and again shows that he is a fucking pioneer. Alabaster shows a villain protagonist and it is such a wild ride. He basically did the whole kira of death note decades earlier with the sadly kinda canned Dust 8, it is also from the same era (early 70's)
Tezuka always experimented with panelling and breaking the fourth wall, you can always find bits and bits of it, but if you want full experimentation go read Fantasy World Jun by Ishinomori, it is from fucking 67 and it is completely insane in how avant-garde it is compared to both american and europeans comics of the time.

I kind of disagree on the grounds that there have been shows that you could of dropped on the first or second episode instead of forcing yourself to watch till the third
Your better of dropping a series as soon as it feels like a chore to keep watching regardless of what episode your on, most of the time it happens on episode 3 which is probably where the rule came from but like I said there have been shows that it happened on 1-2 and ngl there are some series I dropped at or near the final episode.
so how would you know if it's one of the 3-episodes series?

Aharen-san wa Hakarenai

Okay, so I didn’t think this was possible, but both My Dress-Up Darling and Akebi’s School Trip may have some competition for best surprise hit anime for 2022 (save for Spy x Family of course)

one of my favorite manga, surprised it got an adaption. was a bit worried if the deadpan humor would translate properly, and while it's not perfect it could be worse I think.

This line made me hate any underlying aspect of Naruto. Even if he "gets better", this is his thesisView attachment 3245167
He is a willfully ignorant retard.
Maybe it's because I want to forget it so badly, but what chapter page was this again?

Yeah, keep being gay for your brother Kishimoto, even though he knows that you're just sticking to him how so much more successful you are despite your writing being shit, but his isn't even fucking better either.

I hardly know what the fuck is going on.

God I helped fansub a some of the early stuff and after all the Pain bullshit I consider every minute I spent helping on that series a complete waste of my time.
If yours is the version that's on Mangadex, you helped a lot. The Viz Omnibus version of (I think?) around 2005 is censored garbage, same with their Bleach Omnibus.
Chapter 237.
The ass end of Part 1.
Could be wrong, but I think it's around when the Frog starts training him.
