Suella basically making a play for next leader.

Shadow culture secretary in Bristol lost their seat to the greens.
Wee Carla Denyer got in! The Green Party finally have more than one MP, after Caroline Lucas had to eat her lunch on her tod for years.

It is amazing to see a string of now-ex cabinet ministers give speeches washing their hands of any responsibility for any policy or strategy decision taken in the past decade plus. Sort of makes you wonder what exactly those holding the great offices of state were actually doing in Cabinet meetings.

Sunak's dragging Akasha Murty behind him to the count like she's a bloody hostage. Let the woman go back to California, she's served her time

To my Brit kiwis (and those that follow Brit politics closely), if Labour wins the majority will the general political day to day stuff change much; or just be the same, with Labour being made fun of again on a more prominent stage?
I also pray and hope it doesn't start to get the pro-tranny stuff moving forward again.

Tice won by slim majority.

Holy shit, going to be interesting how many seats reform ends up getting. 10 is still on the table, right?
Unlikely to get any more than the 4 they now have. The exit poles over estimated their performance.

Lots of seats they were marked as likely to win have gone to others.

Same shit, different coat of paint.

It might get some tranny shit unblocked but Starmer has been playing it very carefully about trans being women but single sex spaces and sports need to be respected (depending who he's talking to) so we'll have to wait and see.

Conservative party chairman hung on with a majority of 20.

Edit, they are saying 4-5 now. damn.
4 or 5 is still an overperformance. They were projected to get about 1 or 2 seats, and pundits said it'd be a good night for Farage if they got 3 seats

Context: Holden was parachuted into that seat over the wishes of the constituency Tory party. They refused to campaign for him. Another fucking knobber. Bangs a Sun journalist. Looks like Null if he hit the wall at 100 mph and all his hair fell out.

Penny claiming to have "lost many good colleagues tonight". Perhaps she will be able to identify them later

This is definitely a historical felting of the tories either way, lol. Well deserved.
Not as bad as even the most optimistic polls predicted though. They're looking like keeping 150. Some polls were saying sub 100 and most said 135 at best.

The SNP has taken an almighty kicking. Polls were saying 8 at worst, the exit poll said 10. Reality is looking like 6.

Usually UK elections are boring as shit, but this is super entertaining to watch. Total Tory and SNP wipeout, happy 4th of July everyone.

Johnny Mercer, Official Army Guy, removed by Labour too now. The upper echelon of the Conservative party is getting purged tonight. Very few leading moderates still standing after this.
Which, is what Farage wants. With the balance becoming more extreme, the tories will be more prone to working with him because they will know that without Farage, they will continue to suffer under FPTP. Meaning, he's closer to power.

That little cuntdropping Wes Streeting has clung on by 500 votes. A great disappointment

LMAOOOO Sunak confirms in his 'victory' speech he has already called Starmer to congratulate him and to concede the election

Also claims he looks forward to representing his constituents. Absolutely nil chance this wanker remains their MP much longer
