So... the controversy is that some intern went mad with the airbrush tool and made the candidates look unnatural when they brought their pictures into photoshop?
Looks like he used an AI headshot generator. You see this on LinkedIn pretty commonly.

He's a real person, but I think the weirdest thing to come out of this is the Electoral Commission's response. Apparently they don't even bother to verify that the MPs running actually exist

Pretty much what I was expecting tbh. Social media response was pretty much "they're definitely running fake candidates" off the back of that one picture.

I wouldn't be surprised if they did some shenanigans, tbh, every party does. But the immediate skepticism comes from probably the most talked-about and watched party in the UK attempting subterfuge in such an obvious way, especially when proving someone exists isn't exactly the hardest thing in the world. Unless you're going off the grid, you're definitely going to leave paper trail of yourself existing.

If you wanted to rig a vote, there's much easier and less-detectable ways to do so. Like by using first-past-the-post.

Phillips was interviewed after this and its quite clear it has taken a toll on her emotionally, very close to breaking down on camera.
lol more likely what took it's toll was the fact that for the first time ever she actually had to fight an election. Normally they'd elect a sack of turnips if it had the Labour rosette pinned to it.

She's a fucking snake, and I've seen hints that her constant grand standing and virtue signaling over certain issues, while running for cover over others (such as trans rights, or muslum violence against women) is starting to wear thin with her own party.

She tried to suck up to Starmer by backing his Israel stance and she never for one second thought she was going to get any push back. She had a melt down at the count because she couldn't comprehend what was happening. If they had managed to pick anyone other than that mong to run against her they'd probably have got her out.

I'd like to think that any attempt at getting somekind of Islamic Party would fail because of sectarian infighting and petty ethnic tribalry between those involved. They're also called minorities for a reason.
Labour are actually ahead of the game on this. If you ever see a Labour MP that can barely speak English (there are a few) well he's there because he's a big man in his respective community, he plays ball and gets a seat in parliament. Those Gaza MP's got elected for a mixture of different reasons, often including the fact that the Labour MP they ousted wasn't personally popular in the constituency (ie Jonathan Ashworth.. fucking lol). Also non muslims hate Israel too.
