I actually feel sorry for the woman. It's quite possible that she was just texting someone to let them know what was going on, and that she couldn't bring herself to even look at the injured.
:powerlevel: Quite a few years back in high school, myself and some fellow students saw a girl fall beneath a moving train as we were going to school. We thought she was surely dead until the train stopped. Then we heard her screaming. The station master and train driver immediately dropped down between the train and platform to get to her. Just as well that they moved quickly. If they hadn't been there, I don't think any of us would have been able to force ourselves to help, and quite possibly the girl could have ended up bleeding out from her wounds as the passengers that left the train were in the same state as us. I literally couldn't stand up, I could only sit on the platform bridge stairs and cry and ask over and over again if she would be okay, which was exactly the same thing everyone else was doing. (The girl lived btw, but ended up in a chair.)
Trauma can do some fucked up things to a person, and it's not uncommon to find yourself responding in a way that looks to other people as inappropriate at best or incomprehensibly awful to others. And it's frighteningly easy to take a photograph showing you in the split second between distress, making you look like a complete ratbag.
This is a still of a still from the movie Gone Girl (sorry, couldn't find the full clip). This is the missing woman and Nick, the woman's husband, has been asked to stand next to a photograph of his wife at a press conference. I can't find the scene on YouTube, sorry. But in the movie, Nick looks appropriately miserable before he forces his face into a smile for less than a second, and next thing he knows, a screen cap of the forced smile is all over the media and suddenly the whole country thinks he's a psychopath who murdered his wife, and he's gloating and loving the attention.
So I'm quite open to the possibility that the woman was texting a loved one and she couldn't bring herself to look at the dead and wounded, as opposed to a foul bitch pretending she's honourable when she's absolutely not. Either way, if I were her I'd be fleeing the country before the lynch mob arrives. If it hasn't already.

I'll admit, I got a chuckle out of all the memes produced and whatnot, but after looking closely at the photo, I really don't think she was ignoring it. I mean, it's no secret that I've got some pretty strong anti-Islam sentiment, but I'm honestly defending the woman because:
1) Look at her face. I mean, REALLY look at it. It's a high quality photo, so the pixels won't make it too hard for you to get a close look. She's distressed, obviously. Is she texting? Maybe. Or she's trying to go through her contacts to call her friends, family, etc., or maybe even call emergency services (The last one is a bit of a long shot, since there could already be paramedics on the scene, but then again they would be treating the wounded person on the ground already).
2) Look at how many people are surrounding the wounded man. Would another person have really helped? Probably not, unless they had EMT training.
3) During this kind of shit, people run. Sometimes they don't always stick around. Fear gets the best of them. It could be what happened to her.
So, bottom line is: I want Kebab out of Europe by any means necessary, but let's not go snapping our jaws like wild hounds, and give this woman a break.

Its also stupid because there are plenty of other photos of non muslims looking at their phones in/around this attack. This woman stands out because she has a headscarf and her clothing is more colorful and tasteful than the other people who seem to be wearing mostly black, because that's the most common color for coats and jackets.
The whole point is, why the fuck would anybody stand around messing with their phone after a terrorist attack, when the possibility existed of more? I'd get the hell out of the area as soon as I could.
Maybe she's texting "Allahu Akbar, the Kafir know! Blow it up!"

Who knows? What are all these randos doing stood around during the Nice Attack. Look at that guy with his hands on his hips, bet he doesn't have a care in the world.
Or, you know, people are complicated.
Point is, its a pretty shallow and uninformed observation, which says more about the people who made it than anyone else.
See again people claiming that the use of the word "Asian" is a Muslim conspiracy rather just asking a British person or engaging their brain. Your seeing people's subconscious, base-level assumptions at work and it involves seeing conspiracy theories everywhere apparently.

I think the main reason that "Asian" tends to mean the brown variety is that racial demographics are pretty different from places like the US. Brown asians are the biggest ethnic group after whites.
Meanwhile, the idiot driving the car looks like he wasn't even Asian at all, and he was born Adrian Russell Elms/Ajao. Complete with all these people saying what a nice young man he was, so that's okay then. That's usually the thing that people complain happens to white mass-shooters in the media. True equality!

I'm pretty sure /pol/ would call us a "cucks" for being realistic about her reaction. "Look at those SJWs thinking 'but she was just scared she didn't want to look' lol cucks".

Same thing kind of goes for Jews as well. Israel sucks? Hell yeah! Overthrow the Zionists? Roll Soros to the gas chamber, muddafukkkaz! Let's all remember to separate the difference between the Zionist and the individual of the Jewish faith who has nothing to do with Zionism and may even be against Israel's expansionism while also condemning the actions of Palestine? BAHAHAHAHA U FUKKEN CUCK GTFO!
(Funny thing is, a Swedish nationalist that sympathizes with the Alt-Right suggested that last one on not always blaming the Jews and making the difference between someone of the Jewish faith and Zionism/International Finance.)

Maybe because Asia is a big place with not only slanty, but whites, Arabs, Jews, Persians, Pakis, and mixed whatevs. It's like WE WUZ KANGZ Afrocentrists, who can't comprehend North Africa being white and Arab or any understanding of basic geography.

British person here, you're the one being ignorant.
People do use "Asian" do avoid saying "Muslim," especially the media.
When the media was reporting on "Asian grooming gangs" people know they aren't run by Hindus and Sikhs, but the media will never say "Muslim grooming gangs".
"Hi, are you little Susie? PC Keith Palmer was your daddy, wasn't he? No, no little Susie, you don't need to ask mummy to come to the door. If you do that it makes you a racist. You know what a racist is, don't you little Susie? It means that you're a very, very bad little girl. You see, it's bad little girls like you being meanie poo poo heads that made that poor man Khalid Masood hurt all of those people. It's bad little girls like you who made that poor man kill daddy. You made that poor man stab daddy. That means that you are the one who killed daddy. You killed daddy. You're not a bad little girl, you're a monster, because daddy is dead because of you.
"Now, you're going to open this door and we're going to take you to where daddy died so that you can stand there next to that brown stain on the concrete and let us film you as you apologise to everyone for murdering all these people. What? That stain? You want to know what that brown stain is? It's blood, Little Susie. You're going to stand next to the place where you murdered daddy and tell everyone that it's your fault.
"Stop crying, little Susie. Crying because daddy's not coming home makes you a racist. You should be ashamed of youself, thinking about daddy and all of those other people. Cry because you made Khalid Masood do all of those mean things. You're a bad, bad girl, little Susie. Now, open the door and come with us. If you don't that makes you a racist, and it means that you're going to make more and more people get hurt."

The BBC is an anal government organisation that has terminology guides on how to report incidents and people - not mixing and matching by calling some people Muslims and others just Asian. Muslims from Tunisia and Morocco are called North Africans, Muslims from the Asian continent are called Asians and that applies to everyone else too.
It's staggeringly obvious if you just think for a moment. Another example is if there's a terrorist attack and even if they know its been done by someone called Ibrahim al-Kalifa or whatever they can't just say "Well obviously its a Muslim attack". Not until they've have it 100% confirmed because this isn't Fox News and the on the spot "I reckon" of the news anchor doesn't mean shit. No matter how obvious it may be they have rules, government rules, which means you don't make a statement on something unless its water-tight otherwise you might be wrong.
What's that phrase about assuming stupidity instead of malice? This is that. Stupid government terminology like "BAME" and other stuff nobody actually uses.
Why should calling them a "Muslim" gang take precedence over them being an "Asian" gang when both facts are objectively true about all of them? Being a Muslim doesn't tell me which nationality your from anymore than being an Asian does.
