To be fair. Secessionist terrorism is probably far more serious from a nation-states perspective. Plus they were more successful, so much so that we negotiated with, and appeased, the terrorist faction.
Though I doubt it was the authors intention, the fact that the IRA brought the British Government to the negotiating table and that former members now hold British political offices proves how much more threatening they were.
Other way around, the British Government had been slowly squeezing the life out of the IRA since the early 80s with excellent intelligence gathering operations and snatch ops. This led to the PIRA forming (which they also squoze hard) which brought the main body to the negotiating table. The Omagh bombing was the final straw on that matter and had the peace talks not proceeded we'd probably be reading about a lot of mysterious republican deaths in the months that followed in an endless "Factional dispute".
I came across a video on Twitter with the exact lady scrolling across photos of terrorist related events.

I visited Alton Towers about a week or so after the shooting at Sous. Because it was a large tourist attraction they chose to hold a minute's silence at the time of the shooting by GMT. This was announced loudly on the speakers of all the areas of the park several times. The area I was in had smaller rides and quite a lot of people in it and you could hear a pin drop.
Right up until two head scarved girls walked through loudly talking and shrieking away.
They also pretended not to notice the death glares thrown their way by both public and workers alike.
I find it funny when they say "don't get angry at the group responsible, this legitimises hate from the right wing party".
Right. So don't call out shit for what it is and don't condemn the attacks, because suddenly your opposition has a valid point in arguments.
People like that are cunts of the highest order. They don't give a shit about the people affected by this, they care more about winning arguments with minimal effort.
Thing is, these people are rapidly on the losing side and just don't understand or realise it yet. London really is a foreign land compared to the rest of the UK, but because the people there rarely stray out of their own enclaves, or their suburban towns like Reading they don't realise it.
The thing bandied about is
tolerance in the UK a lot, and it occurs to me is that is not
acceptance at all. There's an increasing current of that tolerance wearing thin in the UK and should a government not get a decent handle on it, then they will suffer badly.
It's simply a matter of time.
