I've been playing Hell Let Loose for the last 2 todays.

Good game.

Now if only somebody make a modern day version of this game. Squad sucks.

looks like DICE is giving up on the dumpster fire

This reverse psychology bullshit plaguing all chapters of the entertainment industry isn't paying off, whodathunkit? Telling people not to buy your game in a condescending sneer not only gets you what you deserve, but burns consumer guppies who go through mental gymnastics just to entertain themselves.

Good news.

It is excellent when someone trying to rewrite history to conform to their political ideology gets the response that deserves. Also, wokeness is a disease of the mind, and it effects far more than just your ideology, critical thinking, logic, planing and other essential skills you need to develop a project, or let's say, a game, also go out the window.

It's funny, so much of the fire could have been avoided if they just said they wanted playable women in the game.

Instead they made a big dramatic point about representation and bringing to light those ignored throughout history...and proceed to completely ignore actual womens' contribution to the war effort in favour of Jedi hand stronk ladies. That's not even going into how they actively lied about the treatment of minorities within the armies.

This isn't really a surprise, the woke bullshit was only part of the problem honestly, they were more interested in chasing perceived trends than making a proper WW2 game. That trend-chasing is why they put a battle royale mode into a game about world war 2 of all things, and it's part of the reason(other being socjus pandering) why this game deserved to fail

Yep, they're pulling the plug. It's a sad day when somehow Call of Duty is more liked than Battlefield.

Modern Warfare is a case where much of the original IW developers came back, while BFV had several key developers leave.

The former resulted in one of the best COD games in years, and the latter resulted in a thoroughly disjointed mess.

I kinda had hope DICE would turn the game around like with Battlefront II, and yet they couldn't support this game for two years.

You're right, because Modern Warfare is actually pretty good and I'm doing it a disservice. Should have said "a sad day when Activision/Infinity Ward gets their shit together and releases an actually fun game (with caveats) and DICE keeps digging themselves deeper".

They better get their fucking shit together for Battlefield VI. I've seen a lot of people recommending they emulate 3 and 4 to get some of their audience interested again, and I agree. Sure, they're going to get criticized for following after Modern Warfare's success, but they need that trust from older fans back.

Honestly, an alternative history direction of Battlefield V inspired by true events could've worked in its favor.

I don't see from a business sense why EA would double down on identity politics in a WW2 era game. And on top of that, treat it as a live service and kill it afterwards.

Battlefield 1 to Battlefield V, it looks watered down. Battlefield 1 had heart and soul into its content. The introduction of real world events when you play multiplayer, describing the factions fighting each other was a breath of fresh air. THAT'S how you incorporate story in multiplayer battles.

BFV looks like an alpha with its UI, bugs and lack of direction. Shame really, it could've been something decent.

Bad Company 3 would be a safe bet. They wouldn't even be confined to console hardware, especially to next generation hardware.

"Who the hell goes to war in a cowboy hat?"
"The Dallas Cowboys go to war every Sunday. Sometimes Mondays."

That tends to be the case with "Get Woke Go Broke".

Wokeness on it's own won't kill a product but it will if it's a mask for shit quality.

Another way to look at it is that being woke as fuck also tends to go hand-in-hand with a product being poor quality in general. That is, SJW types tend to suck at making quality stuff more often than not.

Speaking of BF1 is anyone else here playing it? I’m pretty shit at the game but I’ve still been having a fuckin good time shooting stuff with bolt action rifles
Xbox One player here, so I don't know if BF1 or BF4 are still populated anymore.

Only reason I've been playing BFV more is that it's the most populated game of the series, otherwise I'd drop it.

I’m on ps4 and I have no trouble finding nearly full games on bf1, although it’s basically impossible to find games on any of the dlc maps

Battlefield 1 is the only game of the series where I have a positive K/D ratio while playing with a controller on the PC version with medium graphics and it still looks great at medium. Played it since the beta and pretty much got sold on it by the advertising back then, which was top notch class. Compare the trailers for that to V and the difference is night and day. Also I was horrified that they shit they did in V, it was actually planned for BF1 and I guess somehow it got saved. I like the open war atmosphere where anything including barbed wire can kill you and the sniper rifles have great iron sights. I forgot to mention, the iron sights are great.

A lot of people talking about the tranny/nog shit (rightfully so), but ignoring the gameplay aspects of this too. From what I have seen dice kept moving the TTK around like crazy, they would also lowered the skill ceiling right around December most likely for the Christmas buyers.

There are several lists going around of weapons that were datamined, several of which are already in the game pretty much complete, and some were even ready day 1. The thought process is the items are a victim of the live service model. Where Dice was artificially taking out content to add back later so it looks like they are always updating and building the game.

From what I have tried to gleem from the behind the scenes of this game the direction for this game was all over with no clear vision. There are those who didn't care for the other shit but wanted to stick through it for the core gameplay but even then many gave up. Some idea of scale there is no Eastern front at all in game, no Italy, no France. Which are obviously very important places for the Euro theater of ww2.

Dice said they wanted the "unknown" fronts of ww2 (in a thinly veiled way to talk about how great they are for showing off muh wahmen n brown people) but they clearly didn't want to do the lesser known areas like say Malaysia, China, Yugoslavia, Finland, Alaska, Philippines, etc. They wanted to have their cake and eat it too. They wanted the poz shit and the big name battles that everyone knows about for name recognition.

The good ideas to come out of the tranny fire that is 5 thus far seem to be
  • Fortifications to counterbalance destruction
  • Squad points
  • Overall movement and shooting systems
  • Weapon/vehicle upgrade systems being more streamlined
  • The squad revive system
Now they obviously need some tinkering but I do see the above ideas having potential.

Also is there any mod I can ping so we can make this a BF general?

Now if only somebody make a modern day version of this game. Squad sucks.
I think there is one in the works, the only issue is its being made by bluedrake42. That said I do agree the core movement, shooting, and spawn systems of HLL is better then Squad.
