Breaking News, EA Tricked Into Repeating Goobergate Disinfo That BFV Underperformed

Something interesting to note, 7.3 million would actually move down that 2018 NPD chart a space and not up if I'm not mistaken. It seemed weird Mario Odyssey should be below it, I checked and Nintendo announced they'd already sold 10 million copies by April. So I guess digital sales can make a big difference :story:
Lol and they're trying to blame the lack of a battle royale mode for the poor launch. They just refuse to learn, this is amazing. I wonder if they think a lack of BR is what hurt BF2 as well.

To admit fault for driving customers away means "bending the knee" to the "horrible" people they denounced.

Although, I do wonder what EA really feels about DICE now. Declining sales and two PR disasters are... curious.

Does anyone remember Battlefield V? Me neither! But it appears they've come out with a trailer for their Pacific expansion and it would seem that every soldier depicted is a white or Japanese male. I for one am appalled by this shocking lack of diversity.

Holy shit, they did it. The found a way to make Battlefield V look like an actual WWII game instead of a Fortnite wannabe.

For real though, that actually looks cool. Great to see a remake of 4's Parasol Storm too, loved that map.

There already was a perfect WW2 fps and you have forsaken it. Now persist in the doomed world you have created.

That was a good fucking trailer. If the Pacific shit doesn't suck I might consider buying it on sale. Last I heard from this game was that they were fixing up the cosmetics, whatever happened with that?

While the customization is more subdued compared to the awful reveal trailer, some of the outfits are still outlandish for the setting, particularly the "elite characters" you can buy from the store. Coming off of BF1, where it embraced the WWI aesthetic to make for a more immersive experience, I simply can't take BFV seriously when some players look like they're from a WWII DLC for Fortnite.

It's probably too early to tell, but the US & IJA soldiers so far look much more appropriate for the setting, so that's a plus.

I think they may have got the USMC cloth helmet covers wrong. In the Southwestern Pacific theatre, they usually wore it with the brown-coral pattern on the outside, not the jungle-green pattern on outside.

It's really just more significant that they seem to have fully walked back their original approach being dramatically rebutted by the market. I have no doubt they're scrambling to figure out what to do with Battlefield VI, which I think is safe to say will be a remake of BF Vietnam.

If they were really so hot to add women to the game, I think the eastern front would've made for a really interesting setting. I keep seeing US/England vs Germany for settings, not so much Russia vs Germany. A lot of shit went down for that part of the war, and they had plenty of women combatants without trying to shoehorn in cybernetic Gaelic warrior women.

Honestly BFV is really shit, the game freezes anytime you think about shooting someone and it makes the game impossible to play without wanting to gut yourself so you can finally get a kill on someone. I'm hoping for a BF3 remaster even though I know for a fact that's never gonna happen.

There's lots of problems with cosmetics, currently; there's one vaguely British uniform(Desert Rat) among a sea of US uniforms, a handful of resistance-esque outfits, and the community is constantly begging for uniforms that use gloves. There's also the recent Halloween set that, well...

I think the absolute peak of irony is that World War 1 would have been much better for customization and yet they picked WW2 for it. Written testimony from the Great War veterans showed that nobody gave a shit what you did with your uniform on the front so long as you were vaguely recognizable, which meant captured coats and such were fair game and often encouraged. World War 2 buckled down on uniform regulation very fiercely with some negative effect.

I think they may have got the USMC cloth helmet covers wrong. In the Southwestern Pacific theatre, they usually wore it with the brown-coral pattern on the outside, not the jungle-green pattern on outside.
What's worse is when you realize the focused Marine appears to be wearing a helmet liner without the steel shell.

Yeah, there's a better way to do cosmetics that keep troops recognizable than what they first attempted to do. Cut-off/rolled up sleeves, open shirts, bandanas in different locations, gloves, reasonable camo on helmets, pouch locations, patches, shit attached to helmets, etc. Some very light and reasonable colored face paint would work too, and the Filthy Thirteen Native American face paint did actually exist.

If they really had to do le epic skins that you have to pay an absurd amount for, have that be the very rare camouflage uniforms, which at least did exist if not considered completely impractical for anyone that wasn't a sniper.

wouldn't be surprised if that's dice LA getting rid of dice sweden's retarded shit like they did for bf4.

The new Iwo Jima map is pretty fun on breakthrough, and it’s nice to finally be able to play with the Garand.

I was wondering what they'd do with the Pacific, there was juuuuuuuuust enough wiggle room in Europe for their diversity not to be too ridiculous (though still ridiculous) but the Pacific was literally just white men and the Japanese and trying to diversify that would have made it an utter comedy.

So I'm glad to see they didn't, could the tide be turning and woke culture is in it's last days?

Remember the kiwi who idiotically tried to claim that BFV wasn't a horrible failure, despite even EA not taking that stance? Pepperidge Farm remembers.

It would be really cool if there was a horde mode based on those dudes who held off a 3rd of the entire german army in a fucking block of flats.

The biggest accomplishment of this update was making the Pacific content actually feel like WWII content.

This is what the game should've been more like in the first place. Better late than never, but shit was this game disjointed.
