If this is a scam, I get the feeling that Raye isn't in on it and is being strung along by the producers. Just like how Chuck Tingle was left holding the bag after Zoe Quinn took the money and ran. "Of course the show is happening. In fact, we got the theme tune finalised. You're going to love it. Just ignore those people on Twitter. They don't know what it takes to make an animated series."

All I know is, since this involves weebs they won't be forgiving of the end result.

This shit is being made with money that was supposed to go to making more anime. So they're all going to say "we could have gotten XX anime instead of this pile of shit"

Unless this thing pulls and Avatar The Last Airbender and is equal or greater to established series, it's going to be incinerated and burned to the ground by weebs.

They're advertisements to get people to visit fucking Oregon, and look at how much effort and creativity went into these. This animation is Studio Ghibli quality.

And they were outsourced to a young Sun Creature Studio, based in Copenhagen, Denmark, though Psyop is American with at least three locations that I can tell on their site (which is honestly a difficult navigation, good God).

I always see Psyop's name pop up for these ads but never realized how big this group happens to be. At least they know where to go for their talent pool.
 

TLDR: No news about HGS on Anime Expo. Official Twitter still without update since August of last year. Show was supposed to air around May this year.

I hope so too. Because something tells me the original overseas studio probably never got to animating anything given the lack of talent and production bullshit the domestic team pulled.

Anime is Japanese animation made by Japanese people in Japan or more loosely animation in that style, and this is none of those things. It is Western animation made by Westerners that looks completely Western.
 
Whatever happened to this shit? I remember that just about everyone, even on their own site hated the idea of it, but I haven't heard shit about it since.

Edit: After watching the video posted earlier in the thread, it sounds like they're just going to silently cancel it. The project was retarded from the get go. Why drop a fuck ton of money on something that isn't even an anime, rather than funding one of the millions of good mangas that deserves a good anime, and then make it a Cruncyroll exclusive?

The real technical answer is "sombrero" is the word for "hat" in Spanish, but try using the word "sombrero" in English to refer to a fedora and you'll confuse everyone.
