Dumb question maybe but what makes this not anime?
I always made the distinction to be that anime is animation produced and imported from Japan. It does feel kind of arbitrary because I don't consider Castlevania or Avatar to be anime despite the source material or inspiration.
No, they know P&S is an anime, but they literally believe A:TLA is anime. Really and truly they believe it and will go blue in the face wrongly explaining it to you that it's anime. Same with Teen Titans for some fucking reason.
Would probably not help if he knew the art director is Japanese.

Can't the dead stay dead

The Crunchy Roll Con will be in a month and we haven't heard any official news about the show since the con from last year.
There doesn't seem to be any info about HGS being talked about at this con.

On a side note, raye is hoping that the show will get a season 2

Deadlines are fascism and a tool of the patriarchy.

Thundercats Roar was a load of lumpy garbage, sure, but at least they were professional enough to have a bit of sample animation done.

Since I'm fairly certain this thing is dead in the water/eternally stuck in development hell, I gotta say that I'm bummed that we'll probably never get to see the background art fully colored and shaded.

Everything else on the show looks very bog standard for western animation, but I always thought the backgrounds that they showed in the """trailer""" looked really detailed and beautiful even without color. They were the one thing I actually liked. A shame.

So I came across a storyboard artist who worked on HGS, this Kaitrin Snodgrass.

Back in August 22, 2018, she posted some pictures of what appears to be the theme song on her Facebook. There's a couple of reposts in October, but they were originally uploaded that August.

It's about as uninspired as you expect, and not just because of lack of context.

It isn't even rip-off amerianime (Avatar, Teen Titans, etc...), it's just calarts with occasional anime face expressions.

Ok, as much as I want this shit show to fail, never materialize and forever be mocked I dont think its gone yet. So for the last few years Crunchyroll has been throwing a convention in my side of town and I suspect that they might be putting some kind of a reveal regarding this project this year.

I think they might do some kind of short 3 or so episodes...and then start begging on kickstarter.

Being the weeb that I am I might head over there and keep an eye out for things related to it..well, and see if I can get an autograph from Junji Ito.

Also, the producer of "rising of the shield hero" will be there, it might be worth going to his panel if theres a Q and A session and see if the poor guy gets harassed by blue hairs.

I want to see it, I'm already invested in hating every second of it and plan to make 50min long videos about how much I hate every single episode to an audience that literally only watches to get spoon fed on why they shouldn't like it.

They're still making this shit?
I thought this was a one and done deal that was never to be mentioned again...
Now apparently they're teasing it
And it's way past it's deadline...

At this point I think this show is dead in the water considering there were no updates at all not even as a update showing some art since the the first trailer.

It was pretty much a scam like Gen Zed. Crunchyroll just stole its customers' money and gave it to criminals for doing nothing.

People working on the show have made mentions that its still coming along.
Rick and Morty tried that the whole "all female writers thing" and that came with numerous delays, so I doubt that this will be much different.
A lot of the shows themes were pretty topical and SJW in nature, so I wonder if there had to be massive rewrites to adjust the show's 'wokeness.' I think this, along with the backlash, is why CR is so quite about it. The show may be changing a lot behind the scenes and they don't want to put anything out that may get revised later on.
