My fucking weeb brothers give me aneurysms every time this topic comes up, and I tell them over and over again the clear, simple answer of why Western cartoons aren't considered "anime" except only in Japan, and the bricks of walls that call themselves humans keep pushing back with the dumbest arguments ever because all they see is how it looks, not who produced it.

They should go to Wikipedia and try editing the articles to call it that and cause an autism explosion, because even Wikipedia knows that's bullshit. "Anime-influenced Western animation" is the category that the spergs on Wikipedia call it.

The confusion seems to be that they attribute the name Anime to things other than where it is produced, try comparing it to Champagne.

Champagne is a sparkling wine produced specifically in the Champagne region of France, people that call sparkling wines not produced there Champagne are wrong.

Avatar is a pretty good Sparkling wine, it will never be Champagne.

But... why? This vaporware shit was advertised as taking place in a fictional land. Why does there need to a be a character that speaks in a real world language other than to justify it being on an anime hosting site? Or are they just aping adventure time with its one character that just spoke in korean? None of this garbage is original.

Even if season two were to miraculously happen, this is the most fucking idiotic thing to suggest, even if it's a joke. In a world of magic and mystery, apparently Japanese is their Dragonese or Elvish language.

If they're gonna steal that running gag from Adventure Time, then why not just go all in and reveal this is really a post-Apocalypse setting? I mean, everything else about this obvious scam is lazy as fuck, so why not?
