Of course you are a fanboy of these movies and feel the need to get defensive. Like, I know the general tastes of audiences have declined because these movies are choking out other IPs but quit being delusional. You know otherwise it would have made $600million tops if not for Endgame hype. Black Panther was only successful because people have a shit taste and overhyped it, and the Goodwill the MCU had. Hell that's the main thing here, the MCU has hooked gullible idiots with shit taste into watching almost all of them because they are so tightly connected and essentially a part of an overarching plot, missing one or two of them means you will be lost during the next Avengers movie, so you have to see all of them to even have a clue what's happening...even when that's not the case.

Actually this "And fuck Black Panther!" thing is interesting. So when Carol 2: Stay Mad Boogaloo" doesn't tank, will that also be a case of "an obviously shit movie being carried by hype!"? You flip back and forth between these things being regarded by everyone as sub par, but also that they do well because people are retarded and don't know any better?

The normies didn't actually like the movie, but they're idiots and probably would have because they have no taste? Everything you say conveniently has an explanation that never revolves around "people enjoyed it", you may as well be sitting here telling us super secret insiders have tipped you off that in reality the movie bombed and they've had lawyers looking over Larsons contract day and night trying to find a loophole where they can get rid of her.

Well only time will tell if this movie was a one off middle Phase 1 type film that goes into a (hopefully) better film, or if this movie will be where the rot truly set in because future movies will no longer be able to coast off of Avenger's fame and will have to stand on their own. Though people arguing about this should actually try and research if Captain Marvel merch is selling or not, that is where the real power is because TLJs made a shit ton of money but its merchandise tanked.

Though Captain Marvel is going to really have to pull their weight if they are indeed to be the new face of MCU, otherwise she might be able to make due with C tier status, which would be egg on Disney's face, but only time will tell.
 
Never seen it, looks like a very typical MCU movie. Brie Larson's a shithead, but most actors are. RDJ himself told us to vote for Hillary because that's what Tony Stark would do.

Who could they use for a villain in the sequel? The Shi'ar? Maybe the Brood aliens.

Or the storyline where Carol gets raped and gives birth to a son from the future who also has sex with her and she admits she has feelings for him (no seriously look it up) because wacky space shenanigans!!
 
I didn't watch the movie, but at some point there is a scene with young Captain Marvel, and she is racing in a go-kart. She is going too fast, and a boy ( i know, yikes ) tells her to slow down. She doesn't. She is actually offended that a boy told her to slow down, so she crushes at the next turn...
What's the message here? "Don't let men tell you what to do, even if their advise is perfectly rational and saves your life"?

That was the reason her Big Moment Of Empowerment fell down flat. The people telling her she's a fuck-up are right, as she does fuck up - directly, clearly in front of us, and only succeeds in her struggle due to super powers she never earned.

Ironically, it's the one part of the film that would have legitimately made sense if her gender was being targeted. Instead she, uh, doesn't make the best argument for herself.

Apparently the villain in CM2 will be Korvac and despite him never being one of her rogues gallery (he's faced off against the Guardians of the Galaxy, Doctor Strange and Silver Surfer, among others). They want to have him contrast against her since his recently updated origin now has him be experimented on by the Kree.

All those flashbacks just felt like a shoehorned #woke message added at the last minute. They didn’t feel consistent with the character we saw in the present day.
