"Some of you Dunmer are alright, don't come to Skyrim after 4E 201." - Ulfric Stormcloak

Empire is absolute shit tier because the very first thing they do before you even start the game is try to fucking murder you because of a clerical error. The only reason to ever side with them is if you're purposely RPing as a braindead doormat tool of the state.

Stormcloaks are pretty shitty too but at least they don't try killing you because of incomplete paperwork on their end.

Brotherhood is edgy 2kool4u fags and they have an actual fucking loli working for them.

Mage's Guild are nerds lol.

Thieves Guild suffers from an extreme case of Bethesda Writing, where they pretend you're just a grunt but you're actually carrying the fucking team from the get-go.

Dawnguard are run by a fucking autist who resents your presence immediately and sends you on a suicide mission to get rid of you, despite sending his agents out to recruit as many bodies as possible.

The only factions which are at all amiable, friendly, and feel like there's some real teamwork going on are the Vampires and Companions, and those both have the added bonus of giving you cool monster powers.

yeah but you get the best daedric artifact, and you don't HAVE to give it back

Not only that but when you become the guildmaster, the other members still treat you as if you literally just joined. Makes no sense.

Though this may have been a bug during the time I played the game.

Well, with the Imperials, you do get the satisfaction of later being able to screw them over in the Season Unending quest should you go that route. General Tullius will whine about it, but you can basically tell him to shove it up his ass and he can't do a thing about it.

The Stormcloaks suck less, but unless you play as a Nord they'll treat you like shit outside of your official duties, especially if you are an elf, cat, or lizard.

Pretty much described the Brotherhood like I would.

Mages Guild are nerds, but at least they treat you like an up and coming mage until you become Arch Mage, which you earn based on how you are the most badass around, ironically enough.

The Thieves Guild kinda makes sense in hindsight. They are under a literal curse that basically dicks over any attempt they make at being successful, so all the important stuff gets handed to you in the hopes you'll turn things around. Of course, the writing doesn't really spell this out until you discover said curse was more than just Delvin Mallory being superstitious.

As for the Dawnguard, Isran is such an asshole the only reason they gather together is because you actually give a shit, he's too much of a dick to get people to cooperate, so yeah, can't really disagree, although some of his bitchiness dries up as you keep doing more to turn the Dawnguard around.

But yeah, Vampires and Companions are the best ones.

Imperials in the bigger picture. Sure they banned Talos worship and signed away half of Hammerfell but it was either that or be destroyed. It should be clear to everyone that a second great war is going to happen and a fractured empire helps no one but the Thalmor. Ulfric has played right into the hands of his true enemies and is too blind to see it. Also working with the Imperials gets you pardoned and you become a commissioned officer. Not bad for a guy that wandered into the province with nothing but rags and footwraps.

I was never a fan of the companions either, I just joined looking for some mercenary work and now I'm a werewolf fighting a bunch werewolf hunters that might have had a point if they were fleshed out in any way instead of just being re-skinned bandits.

Speaking of factions, the Blades are also shit considering they turn on you the Dragonborn the one they are sworn to live and die for, the one who saved their lives, rebuilt the order, and are the only hope to stop the end of the world because you won't kill Paarthurnax now now now.

At the end of the day the best choice is always freelance mercenary person roaming the world and looting everything not nailed down.

I have to ask, is there anyone who actually killed Paarthunax? I remember being pretty shocked how these people who couldn't have done anything without me suddenly got so bitchy at me for not wanting to murder the guy who was nothing but helpful.

The Stormcloaks are shortsighted tards doing the knife ears' work. IIRC they didn't even take the brunt of the fighting in the Aldmeri war and yet all the other races held firm, really says something.

Ulfric thinks he can solve everything with a duel, Tullius is the real commander

he used to be an asset, they even mention that he’s uncooperative. he fucked up in the past but he’s a true nord through and through, bitch

he's clearly being manipulated behind the scenes. He's probably got a crack team of Thalmor assassins skulking around just in case his retarded ass Thu'ums the wrong guy.
