It might never be resolved, and it ends up like a "Rebecca" situation. I actually wouldn't mind that, romances don't have to always be happily ever after to be interesting stories. That was one thing I liked about Vega's romance in Mass Effect: he and Shepard work well together when there's just friendly banter and flirting between colleagues, but when they actually hook up they both realise it's a bad idea and never speak of it again.
