ehh... chapter 4 isn't as good as 3. but ill point out the good and bad.

The Good:

Doey the Doughman. basically a playdoh monster. he's a likeable character. he was nicely animated, especially the facial expressions, like jack skellington from a nightmare before christmas. and his backstory is interesting, he was created from three boys. whats even more fucked up is that playtime made him kill jack ayers parents, one of the boys that is part of him. it was also sad when we got forced to kill him :(

Yarnaby looks cool.

It's no longer a one hit death in some cases in this chapter. i like that. makes things a little easier, but there are one hit death situations in some bosses like yarnaby.

the red hand returns. and we can upgrade it to the omni-hand, which unlocks every door.

they completely brought back collecting notes from chapter 2. in chapter three the only notes you would collect were just miss delights papers in the school. this is a good way of expanding on the lore other than the tapes.

The Bad:

the writing was a little weak.

bosses were kinda underwhelming. Doey was honestly the one that was good and stood out the most.

pianosaurus. the way he was killed. mob entertainment spent time on teasers and even a trailer, only to kill him off in seconds. theres a controversy because of that. the community is expressing how disappointed they are with his wasted potential.

now some revealing details. theres a secret tape that i've seen youtubers miss.

so Poppy IS elliot ludwig's daughter. a theory thats been confirmed. so now, everyone is strongly believing The Prototype is elliot ludwig turned into a monster.

also. Huggy Wuggy is back. of course he survived the fall in chapter 1.

The game is so stupid, it's supposed to be set in the 1930s yet has kawaiiiiii posters plastered all over the "factory" in a style completely inaccurate to the time. The setting is so confusing and all over the place. There's referencing and wording completely inaccurate to the time as well. They didn't even do a tinge of research.

How is it set in the 1930s when there is clearly VHS tapes?

The model of The Prototype has been leaked.

>Down here they're calling you the Playtime Butcher!
It was at that point that I closed the game, refunded the game, opened some YouTube playthrough of it, and watched it drunk. I'm not sure why I thought it would be worth a sober playthrough, maybe Chapter 3 got my expectations too high, but rest assured that it's not. If you value your own time and energy you should just watch someone else play it.

Well I thought it was alright. His actual introduction really carries a lot of the weight of presenting him as the formidable boss behind everything. Too bad his actual chase was ass.

Anyway. The conditioning tapes had strong trans vibes. "You're a toy. You were always a toy. Wouldn't being a kid forever be so fun?" type shit. Anyone else notice that?

Markiplier just ended his live playthrough of Chapter 5. His verdict? This chapter was so terrible, it killed any motivation to play Chapter 6. (Granted, he prefaces that he was grumpy from being hungry but he wasn't the only one who aired their grievances with this chapter)

He hated the chases sequences, that there were too many and how they eventually boil down to trials and errors due to the lack of direction the game gives the player, which kills the intense momentum the game elicits from you. (I found it funny when he said that MOB Entertainment consider themselves as the "chase sequence guys")

Complained about characters that show up then leave and contribute essentially nothing to the narrative. (He was fed up with Giblet at the end)

He liked the Lilly Lovebraid segment but felt it was random and felt it was disconnected from the narrative, but I could be misinterpreting the last part.

Overall, MOB Entertainment frustrated a guy, that usually doesn't takes things too hard, so much so that he has no intention to even play the next game installment.

(I'm sorry if I missed some parts)

A 17 year old on Twitter is crashing out because Mark didn’t like it and declared Mark “too stupid” to understand Poppy’s Playtime.

Also, someone clipped the part you were talking about.

to be honest, i do like the prototype's design, staying true to the toy them while being scary and unsettling. i also liked the wrongside outimals stuff, looked unsettling so thats a plus for chapter 5. even one of the parents in one of the audio tapes said it looks Jeffrey Dahmer-ish.

so Lily Lovebraids was originally Ms. Gracie Greene, who assisted in brainwashing the experiments into forgetting their original identities. nice touch. and they have her a taste of her own medicine which she becomes lily lovebraids.

also, in one of the audio tapes, so the prototype is not Elliot Ludwig, but a boy named Oliver, hence the ollie persona from chapter 3 and 4. he could certainly be a son of elliot and poppy's brother. so elliot was a wholesome man running a successful toy company and actually had some skeletons in his closet. and brought his dead kids back through experiments.

the two new hands are cool. the pressure hand, and the conductive hand which is an upgrade to the green hand.

so after fighting him, the prototype impales and kills us and kidnaps poppy, then dumps us into a vat of poppy gel and then giblet used his shock stick to defib us.
and i hated the ending. like why the fuck is the doctor back? didn't we fry his brain back in chapter 4?

i did like how huggy and kissy were in this chapter. everyone did predict that huggy and kissy would finally meet and kissy would calm him and try to get him to defect to the heroes. and i was sad they got attacked and impaled by the prototype.

and guys. i discovered this, so you know all those hidden glitching blue hand scanners? this is what happens if you scan them all.

good for you pianosaurus. i guess this is mob's response to his short screen time back in chapter 4.

but yeah. chapter 5 was unsettling and good and the prototype was cool, but terrible ending. if they're making chapter 6, please let it be the end. because i can totally understand how fatigued markiplier is from playing this.

So Chapter 5 was originally supposed to be the last chapter but once Issac (the creator for Poppy Playtime) left Mob Entertainment during the production of Chapter 4, that changed. Seems like chapter 4 is where the story started to derive from the original one as was theorized.

So i don't know much about this game, but a kiddo in my family was talking about playing it, so I checked the last chapter to see if this was something a 12 year old can handle.

I'm surprised. I know you guys are saying the 5th was bad and had too much chasing and too little substance, but I found it of an unusually high quality for something that feels like RE7 type horror (mixed with a tiny sprinkle of portal mechanics and location type, it even has its own Cave Johnson) for kids. Of course I'm talking having only seen the 5th chapter, but my expectations were underground, having only seen and being horrified by bootleg chink plushy toys popping up everywhere here, plus all the Elsagate 2 content based on this game.

I guess since a lot of the concepts for the toys are stolen, it's no longer as impressive as I thought, but a lot of it still feels very solid.

Also this little (plagiarized) guy is cute.

Eta: I sincerely would like to pirate the games and noclip through everything so I can look at the locations more. A lot of stuff you don't get to see clearly because wooooo chase scene and it's a damn shame.
I was originally gonna buy at least 3 4 5 until I found out these motherfuckers also make Elsagate shit. Fucking disgusting.
