(Incoming sperging) I really loved Yu-Gi-Oh when i was a kid. While not the best duelist (Chris-Chan could've probably beaten me) I loved the show to death and always made sure I watched it on Saturday morning. If I had to pick my favorite duel it would be the Master of Magicians which is a duel between Yugi and Arcana. After seeing that I really wanted to get Dark Magician Girl and (I hope I'm remembering the name right) Arcana Dark Magician for my deck because I thought they were cool cards. In addition I will always say that the first episode of Yu-Gi-Oh is one of the best first episodes of a show I've ever seen. It still holds up to this day and has one of my favorite moments (When Yugi orders Exodia to obliterate Kaiba's Blue Eyes White Dragons)
Over the years I've had a lot of people (usually weebs) tell me that I should only watch the Subs because the dubs have stupid moments and/or are stupidly censored. However unlike Pokemon where a lot was lost in censorship, Yu-Gi-Oh actually doesn't lose that much censorship and the commonly sighted "stupid" moments (like Joey's Brooklyn Accent) aren't really that bad/actually make the characters more interesting. Also a lot of people forget that when Yu-Gi-Oh came to America the Satanic Panic of the 90s was still on a lot of parents' minds (I actually had a few friends who couldn't watch the show because their parents were convinced it was demonic magic) so a lot of what got cut was done so parents would let their kids watch it. As I tell my weeb friends mildly censoring Exodia's pentagram isn't on the same level as trying to convince people rice balls are jelly doughnuts
