Section 8 is a bitch to go through, there's a waiting list to go through. What would Chris do in that time period?

Transient hotels, shit little better than a flophouse, whatever Rocky could scrounge together for him, actually being homeless.

In any event, he'd probably lose all his shit because he couldn't fit it into the kind of tiny shitholes he'd be able to live in while waiting the months, or even years, it took to get him into Section 8.

He'd still probably get his shit together faster than Potato Phil.

There may be a Lego,Hoarding saga where Chris crams all their toys into a tiny Sro room suitable for Bukowski style living.

I'm sure the day Barb dies we'll get a video of her cadaver with an awkward voice over by Chris spinning a tale of how this means he needs money now. Maybe he'll also invent a way to blame her death on trolls. Possibly citing a 'smell too strong', or a 'light too bright', or some other such nonsense sensory overload.

Anything that takes him out of his comfort zone will speed up the deterioration Chris is facing; Increased hair loss, worse hygiene by refusing to use the shelter's showers (leading to beatings by his neighbors), louder outbursts (even more beatings).

Not to mention keeping his valuables near him, my bet is on a shopping cart (or a train on shopping carts) one which will carry his lego highschool in a transparent trashbag so he can show it to people while protecting it from the elements.

Now, will Chris eat shelter food?

I can only imagine the realtor having to answer questions at the forecloser auction.
"How much for this filing Cabnit, and do you have the key?"
"This bathtub is filled with VHS tapes that smell like cheese and anal sex!"
"Ouch, I stepped on a Lego!"
"I found a dead cat..."
"What is in these ziplock bags in the freezer, and why is it dated?"
"hmm, lil Chris? this is a nice little teddy bear, my grandson will love it! How much?"
"Why is there a picture of a man next to yellow sonic on the fridge?"

This is going to be glorious, Chris will probably spend every spare minute he has sticking his Lego bricks together into one ultra-dense cube, to preserve as much of his hoard as possible. Then rage when he can't pick up or move the resulting refrigerator-sized lump

I feel like KF will be the first to discover that Barb is dead after Chris uploads a video where he begs and then tells her to repeat what he said and gets frustrated when she won't do it.

When Barb dies Chris will ceremoniously drape his striped shirt over her face and stress-sigh. Throughout the next month he will periodically revisit the body, refold the shirt, stress-sigh, and empty half a can of Febreeze. Despite what their commercials imply, Febreeze will not in fact make the odor any better.

Chris will begin his Etsy Odyssey, spending his time learning new crafts.

The presumption that Barb will die at home is probably incorrect. Unless something happens to cause a stressful surprise at 14bc, she will most likely die in a hospital or LTC facility. Bob died in hospital (cut down at the tender age of 84 by uncaring nurses). These are the places old people die. Home care is not a possibility due to Barb's collection of only useful and valuable things.

Barb will probably still be alive when things start getting bad for Chris. Probably drugged up and out of it. Her death will only add to the bills and worry. I doubt that she has LTC insurance or has prepaid for her burial expenses.

I don't see her leaving the home willingly. If she actually does go to a hospital for something that's not acute and quickly fixable, it's to die. She's nuts and won't leave the hoard.

She must choose to die suddenly then.

Neither she or Chris are smart enough to know how bad she is. She completely needs to avoid any significant care. No one can visit her at home or see the inside of the house ever. Chris will flap his gums and show that he isn't capable of caring for her. A discharge AMA will just make his life worse.

Chris will probably help this along by using Barb's worsening condition as #1 reason he needs more donations. dollars only. NO CHANGE! Saying that Barb doesn't have medication or dentures is advertising neglect. Buying shit for himself while his elderly mother is with nothing will not look very good if he takes over finances.

Even a sudden death probably won't be good for Chris. If the house gets worse, he will be explaining himself to authorities when they drag a dead woman's body out a dirty home full of animal feces and soiled undies.

Chris is not in serious danger of an elder abuse charge no matter what happens. He is just plain not guilty of Barb choosing to neglect herself.
