Victor Davis Hansen has one of the best takes on our current civil crisis. His writings are all that give me hope right now. He's talking about what could be the future if shit keeps getting stupid.

He's a Stanford professor who believes in straight talk. Not sure how he's not been cancelled yet, if more people listened to him I think he'd be out the door.

What Happens When the Madness Ends?

When something cannot go on, it certainly will not go on. But what are the symptoms of what cannot go on and when?

There are two historic red lines and our revolution is getting close to both.

When Normal People Grow Weary

One is when “average” people, both white and nonwhite, who identify neither with Left nor Right, woke nor unwoke, become frightened or appalled by the violence and the anarchy—and thus finally move to dismantle the guillotine as the razor increasingly starts haircutting friends, idols, and compatriots.

Their verdict can be known either by demonstrating themselves, boycotting, voting, or massive civil disobedience. At some point, tonight’s hero on YouTube torching Wendy’s or kicking a downed policeman on CNN, becomes tomorrow’s commonplace, unnoticed felon—with a new warrant issued out on his head, and about whose fate and lengthy CV no one other than his parents much cares.

Governors and mayors can demand masks and all sorts of social distancing measures. But once they declared that only those not demonstrating—the non-looting and nonviolent—were subject to their rules, while millions both peacefully protesting and violently looting were exempt, then their words meant nothing. It will be impossible for them ever to be seen as credible again. Virus or no virus, crowded freeways, and busy malls will soon be referenda on the bond of governors like Gavin Newsom and Gretchen Whitmer.

In a few weeks, we are promised that multimillionaire NFL players and coaches in unison will not deign to stand up for the National Anthem. Promises, promises.

TV play-by-play announcers will praise them—or else likely lose their jobs. But millions of Americans simply will decouple from the NFL. Their silent disappearance will make the prior Kaepernick drop-off in attendance and viewership seem like child’s play. The same will be true perhaps of the more canny NBA, if they foolishly emulate the NFL. Millions will surmise that billionaire basketball players can far better make their billions in China and should—an NBA deity whose dictatorship players and coaches fear and worship while criticizing their own democracy.

Recently, there was murder in the CHAZ/CHOP-shop summer of love, and more random violence. Soon average Seattle citizens will want their city’s core back if only to reclaim their full 911 response. When the police begin not showing up for assaults, thefts, and break-ins, and criminals do what criminals do without consequences, the proverbial victims and vulnerable will have had enough and either move away or organize.

Today’s opportunist virtue-signaler will be tomorrow’s gullible fool. Tonight’s brave looter and edgy arsonist will be tomorrow’s matter-of-fact felon.

Governor Cuomo and Mayor de Blasio vie for televised braggadocio. But when the cameras leave, and they will soon, both will be left with billions of dollars in damage, lost commerce, bankrupt budgets, and urban flight. And their whiny appeals to American deplorables for financial assistance, their attempts at shaming clingers for a bailout, will likely be the stuff of comedy. What will California’s multimillionaire Governor Gavin Newsom do when his silly press conferences end, but his 13.3 percent income tax rate and 47-cent gas tax still don’t come close to closing his $50 billion annual deficit? Give more adolescent lectures about how the virus and lockdown are “reimagining a progressive era as it pertains to capitalism”?

When Important People Find Themselves Out of Luck

Second, when important people start to suffer the concrete consequences of their own abstract ideology, then the revolution sputters—in the manner that #MeToo Tara Reid got nowhere in accusing Joe Biden of a brutal sexual assault. Suddenly, handsy and heavily breathing Joe who once swore “women must be believed” appealed to statutes of limitations, presumptions of innocence, and the right to cross-examination as if he were Robespierre suddenly deploring the promiscuous use of the guillotine.

When hysteria fades, so too the current Antifa/BLM movement will go dormant to go enjoy the millions that they garnered from terrified virtue-signaling corporatists. When pistol-packing, AR-15 toting Raz Simone declares himself exempt from his own past homophobia and repulsive N-word vocabulary, and struts armed to the teeth at the head of his posse while blocking the police from aiding those shot and dying, then there is no society left. And those who want society back at some point will act, whether silently or visibly. Either Raz will be arrested—or bought off by a social justice Seattle billionaire and retired to a gifted lakeside home. Either way, he will go soon.

For all the conservatives who virtue signaled that Confederate statues had to come down now, the logical trajectory of their acquiesce was the toppling of Ulysses S. Grant, Columbus, and Father Junipero Serra, and the defacements of Lincoln, Jefferson, and Washington. And it won’t do to deplore the mob’s insanity when it turns on abolitionists, Cervantes, and black Civil War veterans. After all, from the time of the dismemberment of Cinna the Roman poet, that’s precisely what mobs do when appeased: turn on the innocent without apology.

Declaring that Confederate statutes must fall, but only through pro forma deliberation is fine and good. But prejudging that such democratic deliberations will reach the proper end results, sends the signal to the mob of “Well, why wait for a slowcoach vote that will only confirm our violence?” If a sober and judicious observer declares that all Confederate generals are the same and all their stone and bronze images are illegitimately on public display, and all their removals must result from and be confirmed by majority votes, then why have majority votes unless one believes in the legitimacy of the old Soviet Duma or Saddam’s Iraqi parliament?

Both liberals and conservatives have red lines, for without them there is no civilization in which liberals and conservatives can disagree without tribal and ritual violence. When would-be looters and defacers turned toward liberal Beverly Hills, they were met by politically incorrect tear gas. And behold, not a single former chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff or retired military grandee was to be found to tweet out that America ended on that very day when those in the uniform tear-gassed civilians.

Nocturnally decapitating Robert E. Lee’s head in an obscure city park is one thing, marching in daylight on Stone Mountain with dynamite to erase the locus classicus of Confederate commemoration is quite another. Were that to happen, even Fort Bragg, California is not safe and the Wilson School at Princeton would be next in line for the guillotine.

Academics are now bombarded in their campus emails with lists of BLM demands and administrative acquiescence to them. But when the smoke clears and the flames subside, Hadley, Connor, and Palmer will have to give up their legacy spots at Stanford and Yale to meet demands for mandated increases in the size of the African-American student body. Will the edgy radical professor in his elbow patched tweed still virtue-signal from the lounge, when his kid’s 800 English SAT and straight-A prep school grades no longer are considered required admission data, and his salary in no way will match the donor heft of rival Silicon Valley tech parents?

When the frenzy subsides, what will universities themselves say after charging jacked up tuition and room and board costs for indebted students to take their classes on zoom from their parents’ basements? Will they cite “overhead” or praise the new “digital learning,” or institute “givebacks” of student payments, or claim new diversity coordinators and administrators to combat white privilege necessitate budgetary constraints?

What about the Chick-fil-A CEO—worried about corporate losses from vandalized stores and past bad PR from gay boycotts—who urged that whites wash the feet of black people? What will he do when it is again against the law to loot and deface, and when few of any racial lineage would enjoy such groveling hands on their feet?

The Thermador Reaction Is Coming

If a revolution is based on the untruth that blacks are daily violently terrorized by whites, what happens when data reveal facts contrary to that narrative? What happens when people come to understand that in those relatively rare interracial crimes, blacks are far more likely than whites to commit interracial violence? Or when people discover that more than 7,000 blacks are murdered per year by other blacks? When the hysteria fades, such data reasserts the truth that there is not currently a white racial war against blacks.

Now is the hour of the virtue tweeting has-been celebrity, who wishes to avoid the fate of Jimmies Fallon and Kimmel. Did the latter two, now on forced sabbaticals, think they are any more important to American entertainment than the beheaded Danton and Hébert were to the revolution of Robespierre and Saint-Just? In a cultural revolution, radicalism is a fluid and relative state, and no exemption from the violence that one advocates for others.

Just as reformers wanted King Louis XVI to give up some power but not to lose his head, so too peaceful protestors sought to institutionalize accountability for rogue cops. But also, just as a constitutional parliament was forgotten by the time of the Reign of Terror, so too the legitimate protests over George Floyd’s horrific death are now light-years distant from torching Santa Monica and defacing the World War II monument.

Instead, this is the unhinged age of the sexagenarian general mysteriously awakening from his politically incorrect slumber to publicly announce that he threw his suddenly despised framed picture of Robert E. Lee against his wall—as a good business hedge, or to rediscover mysteriously in his seventh decade that his lifelong association with Fort Bragg could be a liability in the suddenly petrified world of corporate clientage.

The Reign of Terror will end and the Thermidor reaction is on the horizon. Today’s opportunist virtue-signaler will be tomorrow’s gullible fool. Tonight’s brave looter and edgy arsonist will be tomorrow’s matter-of-fact felon. This morning’s memo-writing social justice executive and administrator will be seen as tomorrow’s rank abettor of McCarthyite persecutions. And the coveted and esteemed racial arsonist of the moment soon will become the ostracized segregationist.

Americans believe there is one thing more regrettable than a falsifier—and that is an opportunistic and careerist falsifier.

I think people should start learning about radio/sdr's, edge computing, IoT and shit like machine learning and some deep learning. If you're not technical, you should at least understand the capabilities and future of these things, and search known exploits. Radio is used everywhere. The government can't gatekeep frequencies and you can send whatever you want over them. Fuck the FCC.

This is also a good read:

They can triangulate frequencies. Radios should be used for monitoring and only occasionally for communicating at pre-determined times.

Same with guns. If you are going to buy one, make it a private sale. Your name on a list right now is not safe.

WRT computers, you should have a machine then you should have a bootable USB you use for actual communication. You should keep your shit behind a VPN and a proxy and stay off social media sites. Use Tor. While they can track exit nodes, if the nodes go back to a VPN you are at least making it hard on them.

Paranoid AF right now. Preparing to lock everything down.

the legitimate protests over George Floyd’s horrific death
A violent felon overdosed while resisting arrest. The protests were not legitimate and his death wasn't horrific.

Edit: Does not he not realize in this sentence that he's doing exactly what he's criticizing other people for doing?

That's a lot of words to say that things will get better once Soros stops throwing millions at every leftist cause he can.

Realistically, if you're concerned about the way things are going, you shouldn't be using the internet at all. You should be on a flip phone and using legacy forms of communication to keep in contact with people. Even then, the best course of action would be to have a group of like-minded folks who you don't need to communicate with, that you never see, working independently of each other towards a common goal. Like the IRA. They fought a superpower to a stalemate pretty much.

I don't like this article, it's typical of conservative/center-right optimism. Someday white people will be mad. Someday gun owners will be mad. Someday the middle-class will be be mad. Someday all of these people will finally be fed up. I doubt it. They watch Fox and read Breitbart, seeing article after article about how the left-wing wants them dead, and yet they still fill the seats at whatever capeshit globohomo garbage is being pumped out this year. It never happens. Why would anyone hard right give a shit about corporations burning down or blacks getting killed. None of this matters to them, defend the government that helped import millions of foreigners, destroying job markets? Fuck that. Why would anyone in the middle care either? If you're a centrist or even on the fence about what is happening in the United States, you're burying your head in the sand. "I just want my cummies" Those people won't ever do anything because they're watching shows on Netflix about people buttfucking each other. Too consumed by the garbage being beamed into their brains.

I was told that starting January 2017, America would start forced deportations, death camps, gay electrocutions, nuclear holocaust, and the return of slavery. I feel ripped off. I know I'm not the only one.

I've been thinking about that. Soros is ancient and looks like Emperor Palpatine and somehow is not dead yet. I keep wondering when he will finally kick the bucket.

I see companies that formerly at least appeared to have integrity now completely bending the knee to the new racism ("kill whitey" basically) and I see school systems trying their damndest to beat the masculinity out of the boys they "teach." I really want to believe that we are gonna snap back but the evidence is not pointing in that direction.

This is an era of degeneracy and complete moral and physical rot. I do not believe it happened organically. It was engineered. Those who cried warning were mocked as tinfoil-hat conspiracy theorists and yet, now, here we are.

I don't fucking know. I feel very blackpilled right now.

lol Jimmy Fallon and Jimmy Kimmel got canceled? Couldn't have happened to better guys (Fallon has never been funny and Kimmel's a hypocrite).

Meh, don't let it get you down. Remember these riots were very quietly (and forcefully) turned around and sent back to the city centers when they tried to venture into the suburbs and/or wealthy areas. The wealthy don't want their neighborhoods torched and the handlers know the suburbs will fucking shoot to kill if the rioters came for them. For all the damage they did, the riots were remarkably well corralled into specific areas. By and large they damaged and torched their own neighborhoods the most.

People are quietly shifting to the right. You don't hear from the silent majority directly; you only hear whispers from trusted friends that they're not so sure that Trump is Hitler anymore, or these riots have gone too far, or they can't believe their favorite corporate master openly demeaned them because they're white, or they got passed over for a job because they're white and there was a black applicant. Social media (and the media in general) have made it essentially suicide to argue publicly against BLM, liberals in general, or in support of basically any conservative viewpoint. So you don't hear them as much. But they're still out there. The ideas don't go away just because they can't be openly discussed. The resentment builds, though, and eventually boils over.

Gun sales have blasted through the roof lately. A society that's been completely cowed into accepting whites are evil and blacks are saints wouldn't be buying guns at this record pace. This is an indication of a society that has decided the shit's about to hit the fan and they'll need some armaments to put down the coming conflict. And it ain't liberals buying up all the guns...

All civilizations have enemies; the issue is whether or not the citizenry believes that their civic virtues mean a damn thing. Once the majority ceases to understand what makes them compatriots the foundation starts to wash out and nobody really cares (or knows how) to shore it up again. That's when things turn to shit. That's when we become the enemy.

This is like something new, like a new event where the president, who is a 90s era style democrat is considered Uber Hitler 3.0 because his rhetoric was a bit too edgy.

Every top level company you can think of, just said we love Niggers, all at the same time. All at once as well and people who question it, get fired thanks to Twitter.

Majority of Republicans just fully cucked hard, like I was surprised by their reaction to the riots and looting despite footage available from Unicorn Riot to show that shit is fucked.

Media is now full controlled by the left wing and even liberals and leftists not in line, get booted out.

And companies can refuse you service because you are pro gun or don't toe the line set by corporate America. And add to that their soyboy drones will actively seek you out to shut you down.

The constitution has been fully subverted by corporate America and Big Business that the Right Wing was cucking for decades. And corporate America discarded them.

The long term consequences are more horrifying to think about than the short term niggers burning down their own hoods.

Not as simple to do on an SDR, especially with gnuradio. And I'm sure you can spoof your license as well. GPS can be spoofed. I'm pretty sure you can spoof your FCC ID number as well.

Here's a couple good reads about the power of SDR's and even rogue eNodeB stations can be hard to detect, cellular isn't secure for a reason
and this one is a fun look at it too

As for the VPN, you have to make sure its logless. I don't care if they track my exit nodes, if they're interested in me they'd still have to find more than me exiting a tor node. So I don't understand the concern. And I agree about the usb system.

You're on a list somewhere for something, no matter what. I was taught to always stay in the herd, don't be an individual. Past that no social media presence negates like 80% of their ability to get any information on you. OPSEC shit in the military said shit like that at least.

If you're going full innawoods, get a good pack, good wool socks, a pair of better boots than you can afford, and make sure you have a portable water filter. After that, look into getting even a shitty Baofeng radio. You're going to want to be listening a lot more than transmitting, unless you're trapped under a rock and need emergency services.

The only thing that will stop this is Trump winning in November, because it would mean that Secret Ballot can ultimately resist their push and that they can gain like communist regimes of Eastern Europe gain only outward but not true inner obedience.

Literally all of this is the culmination of cultural forces way deeper and way more ancient than Trump, forces that Trump-- and really, the GOP, for that matter, has neither the tools nor the will to fix.

The far left has still seized the means of education and information and the news media still has the fingers of foreign interests in their pies. The sexual development of our youth is being heavily distorted by easily accessible hardcore pornography, hookup culture and overall the cataclysmic cultural catastrophe that was the sexual revolution that, among other things, encourages them to be disposable masturbation tools for other people so they can develop into better masturbation tools for some other person-- maybe their spouse, maybe not, who knows, because our single motherhood rates have exploded in the last few decades, and the culture around divorce has not only become toxic, but commonplace and non-stigmatized. Which, by the way, is undoubtedly why there's a decrease in the marriage rates: young men don't want to be screwed over, and women are brainwashed to eschew the idea of motherhood (but not the idea of hollow hookups) for as long as possible (i.e. until they can't even consider motherhood anymore) to focus on their careers. Our youth are also being pipelined from grade school to college to retail at best because we still haven't encouraged a responsible culture about college that makes it more than grades 13 through 17 where you can piss taxpayer's money away trying to "figure yourself out" before settling on a degree you can do in two years like gender studies or critical theory or anything else manned by rad-lefts.

The conception of the nuclear family structure is all but decimated in America, which means more single mothers, which means more insecure men that either settle into emasculation (after being browbeaten by a society that condemns masculinity without teaching responsible masculinity, and extols femininity) or criminality (after attempting to find societal stability outside a home that provides none, not necessarily because mothers are bad parents, but because parenting is a two-person job). Killing our children in the womb has not only become more commonplace and less stigmatized, but has become fiercely defended by people who deny the humanity of the little ones regardless of the kind of conversation being had, with rationales that expose their own anencephaly. Even voting blocks that would have bashed your head in for even floating around the idea of abortion are voting downballot for people who positively float the idea of post-birth abortion in the name of "reproductive rights".

The countercultural movement of the 60s smoked the consciousness of an actual American culture out of a bong, and nobody in power has meaningfully addressed this, because it's pitifully easy to control the populace when they can't stand united.

We're grown more and more to become consumers rather than producers of what we consume, as our jobs are outsourced into places where de facto slavery is condoned, which means we have less of a connection to the things that we own and the structures that we navigate. We're still running slavery de facto in our own nation as degenerates convince many of us that allowing people to unlawfully enter our country to victimize themselves as they open themselves up to exploitation by greedy employers and abusive spouses, and live in merely elevated poverty, as they encumber the system we use to process people willing to go through our system to become a citizen of a prosperous nation and thus cause them to spend longer in immigration hell, is somehow a moral position, or even something to be ignored.

The GOP, as it stands, has no interest in addressing any of these systemic issues. The establishment left and right benefit from these systemic issues, or at least are not harmed by them. Trump's upset win could have sparked a massive turnaround, but the problem was that our young adult population was already heavily liberal between everything described above and the fact that the operating forces on the right could only think to commodify conservative thought as a product for subversives, and themselves could only think to produce conservative thought with all the depth of reactionary strategies like "trigger the libs, own the libs" at best, or some asinine white nationalism/idenitarianism/whatever the hell at worst-- none of these people getting at the fundamental issues that are rotting this country from the inside out (and maybe that was a subversion of any bubbling movement, like the Tea Party was subverted). And when you consider that the family is the fundamental building block of a society, this is practically national necrosis we're dealing with.

Re-electing Trump isn't going to fix that. I mean, electing Joe Biden ('s cabinet) is definitely going to make things worse, but all of the events of the past four years have been smokescreen for very fundamental, very simple, but very unchecked issues. The GOP and DNC has no interest in solving these crises. The far-left wants this. The right in general has neither the tools, nor the insight, nor the will to step up and effect real stabilizing change (many of them, the youth especially, don't understand how much they take for granted that's actually part of the cause of the instability we face now). Even if Trump's re-elected, it doesn't change the fact that our society is an internal wreck.

Re: Eastern Europe, the USSR did a real number on the Orthodox Church in those regions. It's healing, but it doesn't change the fact that you had generations of children propagandized against religion outside worship of the state, and you had people becoming slowly influenced by the public-facing masks they had to wear for their own safety.

I know I'll be called accelerationist, but until people decide to push back violently against the left, there won't be any changes for good. Despite what people claimed in the last 8 years, the situation has only got worse and more one sided as time went on and there is absolutely nothing to suggest otherwise. The problem is that modern society is absolutely terrified of violence and would rather suffer until it's too late to do anything.

Modern westerners as a whole seem terrified of adversity, since we are a largely spoiled and coddled bunch. I've been to actual shithole countries (it doesn't get much worse for abject poverty than Nepal, and I've spent a lot of time there), where you either overcome adversity or die. There is no safety net, nobody to help, you have to do it yourself. That generally hasn't been the case in the western world for decades, so as a result many people are "soft" and would quickly crumble if shit truly did hit the fan.

People like to compare this to 1968. No. This is 2020, this a whole new beast of animal. Whatever happens down the line people are going to look back to 2020. This is the first 2020.
