Arc Raiders, mostly because I love talking shit on prox chat. Been having heaps of fun in duos and trios, and running solo is nice for a more chill raid every now and then. And cackling at the zoomers who tell me to get back in the kitchen when they are the ones downed, rofl.

I just finished Dead Rising 3 & 4. DR3 was great IMO, 4 was glitchy as fuck but I still had tons of fun with it. DR1 is the only one I haven't played yet, not sure whether to get the original or the deluxe remaster. Also planning to get the Xbox 360 version of Deadly Premonition, just found out it's on the backwards compatibility list

It's another buggy mess lol but such a memorable game. I can forgive a lot of technical issues, if the game is fun to play and has interesting characters, story etc. The bizarre dialogue was amazing lol
Exactly. It's not great for the gameplay, it's great for the story being told. York is a fun, compelling character and SWERY's universe is insane. I haven't watched Twin Peaks but I imagine if you have, you get even more from Deadly Premonition.
It's a bit of a shame that the sequel/prequel is kinda controversial both for the Switch performance on release and the tranny character minor shitstorm.

Me and a buddy recently got really into snowrunner. We picked it up thinking it'd be funny for a couple hours but have since been sucked into the trucking Sim rabbit hole. Really relaxing game too

I have ultimately given up on Jade Empire, pretty close to the end too.

The combat was very frustrating the whole time, being pretty unbalanced and extremely janky and just not satisfying even when it did work, but Grand Inquisitor Jia was the last straw: not only is she a real showcase of how combat is a janky "hope for the best" shitshow, but any time I lucked into gaining the upper hand, Jia would clip into scenery, drop into the bottomless pit under the fight area, or start spamming an unfair paralyzing attack like Jinpachi in Tekken 5.

At best Jade Empire was serviceable and a bit silly, more often it was just tedious and boring. I think replacing all inventory management with just an amulet you socket stat gems into really hurt the game as an RPG, and levelling your combat styles is boring as fuck because every upgrade is simply "increase [a stat] by 5/10/15/20/25%" kinda shit.

One of the few notable positives for me was that the companion Dawn Star didn't immediately jump on my dick the second I said 'hello' like all modern RPG companions: you have to express interest in her, and then talk to her a few times as she has an actual character arc processing her feelings and getting comfortable with the idea of you being into her. I wish other RPGs would consider this idea of making NPC companions have character arcs, it might improve the genre a lot.

I dunno, I guess I give it a 5/10. It's got a lot of style, and the stories can sometimes be interesting, but the combat is really unsatisfying, constantly has to be cheesed through, and progression feels like a joke. Check it out if you're insanely bored and want to see something unusual, or give it to a kid as Babby's First RPG.

I had a switch lite for a few years and played the sequel. I enjoyed it for what it was, it was even buggier than the first game though. Not as memorable as the first game. I actually don't remember anything about the tranny character. Back then I was more sympathetic to trannies in general, but I wasn't really aware of the level of stupidity in that community, the gaslighting, delusion, fetishistic AGPs, and the absolute horrors of SRS/GRS and child transition. Kiwi Farms really opened my eyes to all that insanity. Any negative criticism of trannies is censored everywhere on the Internet.

Edit: oh so the trannies were up in arms about York misgendering and deadnaming the tranny character? Didn't think he could get any more based tbh

I've been getting back Into yu-gi-oh lately and started the switch lite version of the legacy of the duelist aka the complete edition.

It's a good game presentation and quality wise but the villian vs hero duels, (like playing as Mei vs joey in duelist kingdom) can be brutal even with the story decks, and custom decks can be make or break the duels depending on how good you are at deck construction.

I'll give it this though...its still better than the us version of forbidden memories on ps1. Even the most die hard of yu-gi-oh autists shiver and tremble at the mere mention of that broken as hell mess of a yugioh video game.

Trying to get into Sun Haven and Medieval Dynasty as well as Sengoku Dynasty. Honestly, it's a shame the last one is so poorly optimized because it has so far hooked me more than Medieval.

As for Sun Haven, I fucking love it, but for some reason I can't get into games lately. Despite being the superior Based Alpha Male choice over Stardew, I just can't play for more than 30 minutes right now. Probably a me-thing though.

Got back into Runescape because all my brothers got back into playing it. Old school is a grind and I officially hate myself again. Just like old times.

Been on a PSP kick, so currently it's. Phantasy Star Portable 2 Infinity with the English patch. It's been nice playing something that isn't infected with Current Year-isms, even though the translation was done by fans and it wasn't finished until 2020. Other than that, it's been Ace Combat X.

Decided to dive back into Darksiders 3.
Combat is so unbelievably ass, even compared to the slowest other Soulslike I can think of, Demon's Souls.
I beat the first boss easily, I guess I had to be in a different headspace. I turned off the music and suddenly combat flowed a fraction better.

The world feels so off compared to the previous two games, both because of how sluggish Fury feels even at her fastest and when the combat finally clicks, and because of the art direction.
I cannot understate just how ugly Darksiders 3 is. There's a lot of well-known faces from the previous games and they look recognisable, such as they are, but the stop-motion clay like look on the female Watcher is so weird. It's either clay, or a matte latex material.
Fury herself isn't offensive to look at, even if she's "less sexy" than Joe Mad's original designs for her. I'm not against making designs less sexy, but it's a weird choice to go with for no reason because she still has illogical armour choices, like 5 inch tall heels and a boob plate for a top. But perish the thought of showing off midriff and thigh skin, that's too sexy.

I decided to ease my frustrations with the game by cheat engine'ing in some more souls, because the "bonfires" are few and far between and you lose every single soft soul you've collected, if you die. The combat doesn't feel very responsive with regards to getting hit and taking damage. I'm playing with an 8BitDo pro controller, there is rumble but not for getting struck by an enemy for some reason.

Basically, Darksiders 3 is all of the wrong lessons to learn from a Soulslike.
No map, only a compass that feels incredibly vague.
Slow, sluggish movement from a protagonist who should by all indicators be a fast, zippy brawler.
You are forced to restart an area completely upon death. No real bloodstain to pick up your souls from except when you fulfil an unknown criteria - maybe you need over a certain amount of souls, I couldn't tell you because I gave myself 999.999 souls.
Despite being an allegedly linear game, apparently you can (almost) go anywhere at any point. It's a half-baked Metroidvania ontop of being a half-baked Soulslike, surprise!

I'll 100% it but I'm not too proud to admit that I cheated to give myself an edge. The combat is really just that shitty.

Got back into World of Warships, again. *taps the vein*

Recent updates have added to operations, which I love as I have more fun doing them than random PvP. A new map, having to capture points on the map meaning you can't just closer your eyes and memory you way through it. Plus it teaches newer players who are learning higher tier ships how to do other modes.

Also broke my personal damage record with one of my ships, racked up 350k damage and 9 kills with a German Brawler, that was fucking wild. No idea how I survived it, the RNG gods blessed me that match.

xbox version is the best, all other ports are based off the awful "hd" ps3 port.

Also dr1 original is better.
