I'm going to get off the couch and move to the armchair for this one...
I think it's not a matter of Brianna being good at hiding the facts from warren here... What we instead have is a willful suspension of disbelief. Why would anyone willingly ignore the truth? I posit that they would if they felt they had something greater to gain.
It's obvious Warren here really believes in what he's doing, pushing the "progressive cause", whatever that means to him. By ignoring how he's being used, abused, and lied to, he gets to play pretend that he's actually fighting in the trenches for the cause. That somehow, he is accepting a lesser evil (that everything that is Brianna is a lie) in order to play campaign manager. He gets to do all the work of trying to push progressive causes, Brianna backs it up by saying whatever he knows others want to hear, and he gets to mess with the incarnate political machine by throwing these constant zingers at them, just hoping or believing that if one doesn't stick it at least made a dent that another toss from someone else in the future will stick in. The benefit of doing this instead of running for meaningful office himself is that there are no consequences. If he loses, he fought the good fight and it reinforces in his mind that things are broken and needs a grass-roots revolt to overcome.
The trouble is I believe that willful suspension of disbelief is going to have real consequences. Who in progressives is going to want to associate with someone whom is the work dog for the manchild with whom they already have chosen not to associate? It's political suicide. What you think is putting yourself in the trenches and fighting the good fight is going to result in the same fate for many of those eager to go off to WW1 who thought the same: you will end the campaign dead in a trench.
You have to understand the difference, Warren, in how we see someone like Brianna versus someone like you. Brianna is hopeless, she has shown her true colours time and time again. We've been documenting them for a long long time... again,
it's all available if you only care to break the illusion. We see in you someone not so broken, someone who is actually willing to do the work for a cause they believe in. We aren't asking you all these questions because we're in bed with Stephen Lynch or some evil alt-right nazis or whatever guise you may have originally painted upon us to keep up this illusion. We are simply trying to break through the rose tinted glasses, as we'd much rather see you involved in a real campaign living up to your potential than to be used and tossed away on the latest vanity-trip of John Walker Flynt.
