What is the likelihood Vinny retires forever just because he’s gotten a taste of not having to deal with chat for the first prolonged point in his life since he started streaming? I wouldn’t even blame him, Vinny’s talked at length multiple times about how managing the various fan communities is a nightmare that he’s stepped away from.

What's with everyone's boner for the idea of Vinny retiring/quitting streaming?

The guy has done it for 3-4+ hours a day every day for years with very small breaks inbetween, and he does an annual charity fundraiser that he's clearly very proud of. If you ask me, he's not gonna be quitting anytime soon, because let's face it, he loves doing it. The fact that him not streaming for a prolonged period of time is a cause of concern for a lot of his fans is very telling of that.

It is unlikely because he has said it several times that he does enjoy streaming and chat, sure he some times hates chat and the whole package behind it, but overall he streams because he does enjoys most parts of it.

As for the job part, I disagree, in some places you just need to know someone to get hired rather than having technical experience. In Vinny case I'm sure there are plenty of people who know of someone near his area that might be hiring for a simple position that isn't greatly paid but is good enough to pay the bills.

It depends on the industry and it depends on how high up the person you know is in the hierarchy. You would need some powerful references to get away with having a multiple year gap in your work experience, especially when you didn't spend the time on learning skills that would make you more employable for most decently paying positions. The larger the gap, the harder it is, even with connections. It's definitely in his favor that he's well known and well liked, I'm just struggling to think of something that he could do where he could get away with having virtually zero experience.

Like you said, he could get something entry level, but whether that is sufficient or not depends on his budgeting needs.
 
It also is unlikely because Vinny is still working on his Red Vox album. (Just the other day Mike mentioned he had to practice on the drums because he hadn't practiced in a few days). It will be very difficult for Vinny to keep up with the band without his income from streaming. If the Vinesauce brand is no more then he can kiss the continued success of Red Vox goodbye. He also mentioned before that he takes care of some of his family members financially from to time to time. And his editors like John Fullsauce gets a check from him too. So there are people that kind of rely on him.

I think an extended break is good for him though and he deserves it. Unfortunately it was forced upon him but its nice to hear he's enjoying his time away and is going out and doing stuff because most would just assume he's sitting at home all day wallowing in self pity. Really thankful for Jackal reassuring us that Vinny is ok, otherwise we would have no idea what is going on because no one is saying anything.

Not sure if this was a general statement or not, but in Vin’s case, he’s been considered self-employed ever since he could file his taxes with the income he gets from Twitch, so maybe around 2014 or 2016 being the latest. Tons of Twitch streamers that are partnered usually file as self employed if they make a certain amount to my knowledge. It would be pretty simple for him to land a video editing job or some voice acting stuff, considering he's got tons of connections to animators and other artistic internet folks. He's even mentioned being cautious with his finances and thats not any of our business to know at all, so he'll be fine I think.

Dude, you’ve been going out of your way to reply to people’s tweets that mention Vinny and writing essays about all of this shit on Tumblr for weeks. CLEARLY this is bait and won’t fuck with his legal stuff. I think people like you that are getting worked up and panicked over all of this need to step back and realize that any discussion about it now won't have any effect on Vinny, the people involved, or the legal process until anyone directly involved speaks up. He knows what he's doing and handling it the best he can.

Judging by the whole one person who follows them, you've been far more effective at finding an audience for them than anything else that they've done. It's not wrong to care, but they are literally nobody. They have about as large a chance of crippling Vinny's legal strategy by tweeting as I do by flushing my toilet.

It was a general statement, but part of my point was that a hiring manager at a traditionally structured company would not consider self-employment as a streamer to be legitimate work experience, regardless of what you put on your taxes. Not that it really matters though, as I doubt Vinny would go for that kind of job anyway.

Yeah, video editing, voice acting, podcasting or similar would be the way for him to go. Although, I'm not sure how much video editing experience he actually has considering that he's been paying other people to do it for several years now.
 
They brought up people who are not only irrelevant to Vinesauce now, but also has an "Encyclopedia Dramatica" level of summarizing them. It's like saying that someone like Chuggaaconroy only let's plays Nintendo games because he wants to diddle kids, which is an actual thing someone said in his comments before.
 
Looking at photos of Vinny, his appearance changes so much in his Red Vox pics. It's oddly unnerving. Goes from skinny to just below normal sized limbs.
