I have a confession to make - I play romantic visual novel games, so basically the Western version of otome games. I got started by playing the Love Island video game which was surprisingly fun (R.I.P.) and now primarily play ones made by Russian companies (these kinds of games are huge in Russia for some reason). The once I've played most consistently is Romance Club which currently hosts over 40 novels for your perusal, and many of my favourite video game husbands come from them.
My first offering is Boris Romanov from Heaven's Secret: Requiem. He's beautiful, aristocratic, dangerous and has the best connection to the MC out of all the available options; one of my favourite video game husbands.
Next is Dragan from slavic horror drama And the Haze Will Take Us. Him looking like Theo James is a major plus, but I really enjoy his arc; he can be immature in a way common to young men but is also sweet, courageous, gentle, protective and very masculine.
Liam from Arcanum was a curveball for me. I normally like really masculine men both irl and in my fiction and in my first playthrough chose the man most similar to that, but I found myself regretting it and wished I had chosen Liam. He's not effeminate in character despite his appearance and has a great dynamic with the main character - he's very calm, understanding, gentle and accomodating without being a pushover and brings out the MC's more artistic and sensitive side.
One of my favourite Romance Club novels is Dracula: A Love Story and a large part of that is the romance with Vlad Dracula himself. The novel is set partly in Ottoman times so you get the most fully realised chivalric romance out of all the ones I played. He's strong, handsome, devoted, literary and a total gentleman with a dark side, so what's not to love?
Another one that surprised me was Jonas from scifi novel Psi. Past the emoboy looks is a deep romance with a man who's compassionate, principled, reliable and sardonic in a way that's not irritating.
My final offering is Amrit from the supernatural drama novel Kali: Call of Darkness. He's the most obvious "bad boy" of the lot in the sense that he's a literal cult leader and murderer lol, but makes up for it by being intelligent, cunning and very devoted to the MC. Not to mention his dapper fashion sense.
