If I didn't visited this thread from time to time I wouldn't even know there were elections last week or whatever it was. There's really nothing to look for in that disaster of a country anymore. Read up about the independence from Spain up until General Perez Jimenez, anything after that shouldn't even be considered canon.

I haven't heard anyone relevant trying to compare venezuela and argentina's inflation in well over a year, in fact venezuela has hardly made the news in here as of late (or maybe am wishfully ignorant).
As for Cristina am just glad she can't run for any public positions anymore, yes sucks she got a slap on the wrist and the next peronist will pardon her but it is something plus the fact she or her followes are just denying reality when they claim the charges are fake or made up.

Trump is moving marines and naval assets into the area around Venezuela to attempt to contain the cartels there.

I really dont know what Trump is thinking putting so much hardware in the coast but i have to admit the reaction out of it is incredibly funny starting with military exercises and the military being forced to make vows to give their life for Maduro

I'll break this down for you: Those ships take less than a week of travel time to get there from their home ports. So Trump is basically running a big-dick "I double dare you mother fucker" power move on Maduro because he can and barely costs him anything.
In the mean time, Maduro gets a big dose of "Here is what finding out will look like. Here is what I can do in three days when I decide I've had enough of your shit.". The idea is to get Maduro to cave without having to launch a single combat sortie.

But Maduro is not the real recipient of the message. Trump is telling Mexico he is goddamn serious about fucking up the cartels.

Yesterday was a amusing day because the biggest secret of the government got out and the circles dont know how, they wasted BILLIONS of dollars on making a bunker fallout style and absolutely for 26 years no one knew about it

That and the limp dick reaction of them when another boat full of dugs got vaporized by a drone (they basically did a little speech about blahblah imperialism bad) has make this month the most hilarious one in a long time, Maduro was also bitching that all the "communications" channels between D.C and them got cut suddenly and warned about a potential invasion and told people to prepare to fight to protect the country (aka him)
