He is catching flak right now because it was leaked that 3 weeks ago when the boats arrived he immediately send a letter to Trump asking for the cease of hostilities and to not believe the media because they were misrepresenting his words (the guy that basically chant death to america on tv all day)

A day later, Trump answered him by drone striking call of duty style the first boat

Mind you this is a weird move because the official orders are to never negotiate, never surrender and die fighting

Why would Maduro ever negotiate or surrender? He knows that he cannot be churroed. He is the DSP of dictators. England's monarchy will collapse before Maduro loses power.

He cant, there has been supposedly attempts of him to negotiate a exit but the military keep cockblocking him, the only thing that has changed is that having him as president is suddenly a issue because is interfering with the business

The letter that Maduro send to Trump is the most hilarious shit ever, he call him His Excellency and everything and basically fellate Orange man for a new rounds of negotiation, there are hints that this was written by Maduro himself without someone to proofread it

Edit: i have hear weird talk coming from the docks here, saying that the army apparently has heard that something called the Ocean Trader was spotted near Aruba, it looks like its not a average Navy boat but something else and everyone is more on edge than usual

Apparently it's a support warship, still, I think this is just Trump saber rattling with the minor positive of sinking a few drug boats and just fucking with Maduro and co. I highly doubt there's anything that's going to come out of this.

I'll tl;dr this:
This is a ship used by US special forces because it is a converted container ship so it cannot be readily identified visually. This isn't a huge threat to a nation with robust space/air surveilance network as they can just track it real time, but for a crumbling nation like Venezuela & associated cartels, that means that ANY cargo ship could potentially be ready to put into the air a drone, or a helicopter or drop a zodiac full of 28 Buff, Cool US Marines.

Externally it is identical to any Maersk freighter because it very literally is. This was what they used against pirates in Somalia. Supposedly there have been other internal modifications to enhance durability.

The guys at the docks are on edge because if its there, that means that the SEALS are there. And in fact that means the SEALS are probably already in-country, doing who knows what and OH MY GOD THEY ARE RIGHT BEHIND YOU! But also because they misunderstand the Ocean Trader; in theory, it can also carry a decent portion of a container ship's cargo (top deck) so it would mean logistics for a US operation, but the US has other auxilary supply ships for that (ones that are mostly converted to SecOps command)

Not hard. Cargo vessels have a lot of empty space inside (you know, where the cargo goes) so subdividing that up with watertight bulkheads and decks would add a lot of strength.

It is confirmed that is here but not in Aruba but is on St Croix, a island way farther, also the base in the west got extremely nervous when the Jason Dunham decided to park 50 km just in the edge of the international waters
