That would assume they will be willing to actually commit to the bit, they wont, this entire thing was for one purpose, to show the population that they are not going to get rid of them with votes because the entire system is rigged, and now they dont care about optics they are going to rig it so hard that there is no point in ever bothering to try, is just their classic tactics to discourage people to vote

They are speedrunning a law in congress to force the annexation of Guyana to Venezuela, created PDVSA Guyana to start giving exploitation licenses to everyone who want a piece of the new cake

They are really deluding themselves in pretending they are not going to get shot

Edit: it gets better, they are moving the army to do something in the border, and forced by decree that all maps has to have Guyana as a new state starting now

Edit 2: experts have noticed that they still refuse to publish how many VOTERS they actually had, they keep saying is 10 MILLION votes and refuse to elaborate

He is starting to make extremely weird moves and the most dumb is creating a ZODI (Integral Defense Zone) in Tumeremos, close enough to Guyana to mean something but not close enough to be considered serious, all of the things he has say and done are FOR NOW symbolic and not threatening

But the things in all this 20 years we always were imbeciles but never involved anyone nearby, Colombias saw us like a annoyance and Brazil were communist too and did not care to much

Someone remind me that this is almost word by word the Invasion of the Falkland Islands were a desperate dictatorship wanted a W and got Battle royaled by the UK

As long as he doesn't do anything retarded, he might remain in power if he does so. Besides, the US is already searching a replacement for Saudi Arabia. Better to not give them a reason.

I am optimistic because he doesn't have his sugar daddies anymore, even if he goes to a war he doesn't have any way to resupply them, he doesn't have fuel, he doesn't have anyone willing to sell guns and ammo because we are in debt everywhere, Guyana only have to put a couple of tough guys in the border and the average venezuelan soldier would crumble

Their status of cowards is so memetic that people joked that some of them were learning english to guide the Marines to Miraflores

It was the best in the cities, everything else was still amazon indians shitting in bushes and getting catfish stuck in their urethras.
It was the best because of the billions that was flowing in from the oil companies who had engineers and execs move in and if they didn't want these guys to flip out after a year, they had to send their families. And if they didn't want exec/engineer wives to freak out after 3 months, they had to give them something close to the creature comforts they enjoyed in the first world.

Things had been shitting the bed for years before Chavez made them crash and burn. Argentina shit the bed in the 80s and tanked all the SA currencies, which hurt Venezuela. The previous powers responded the only sensible way: increased grift and narco kickbacks. You had this increased gap of haves and have nots, and then a failed coup and on those bonafides Chavez got in.
He used the central treasury to buy votes by bribing the bush-shitting indos and in typical commie fashion wasted the resource largess by trying to act like he mattered on the world stage; until about 2010 Venezuela offered a natural gas subsidy for the poor in the US to stick it to the US for sending aid to SA. So when everything crashed he had bloated state budget and no savings.

The previous governments had also been making various lip service to replacing the foreign oil industry with a native one. This has various fits and starts but after 80 god-damn years since the 1930 it was finally starting to pay off and they were getting that critical mass of low-level worker that Venezuelans were starting to be able to take over the mid-level management and engineering. But the problem was these trained and smart people were too smart to be communists, so they were dangerous and replaced by people whos only qualification for the jobs was party loyalty.

And thus, venezuela today.

The president went on to stress that Sunday’s electoral result would represent a choice between “peace or violence, fascism or popular democracy, savage capitalism or Christian socialism, a sovereign nation or a [US] colony.”

Reminder that Maduro had to go crawling back to said Jewish Capitalists because his dumpsterfire of a country can't even maintain their own refineries without tech staff and new parts from the US.
