Yes, that's basically the only reason he hasn't been churro'd. He continues paying and feeding the army so they continue serving. Maduro and Chavez also did quite a bit of fuckery to keep the officer corps firmly under their command, it's sort of a "controlled chaos". This article is from 2019 but I found it to be somewhat informative when I was curious as to why they kept supporting the regime.

 
I can speak Spanish fairly well even if the Venezuelan accent is confusing. I'm seeing lots of fuckery on the ballots with armed government gangs closing voting stations or shooting into the public. The opposition has called on the people to not go to sleep and stay on their polling stations until the votes have been counted. Also, the polling stations are recording the votes on video to prevent the government from fiddling with voting numbers. Shit's wild.

Vids circulating on X of Venezuelan gang members alleged to be loyal to Maduro raiding polling stations and literally stealing the election. American leftoids are probably salivating at the prospect of being able to do it this openly.
 
A real case of vooting literally does not do anything. It wouldn't matter if Maduro allowed a real election, he'd just say 'CIA election something something' and call the army out on the streets. He's already called the army out on the streets, the CIA blaming is sure to follow shortly
