Nothing to worry about, Glorious Leader Maudro has chopped six more zeroes off their currency, inflation has been destroyed despite efforts by the capitalist Americans to cripple their economy!

:lunacy:

America: *attempts to Churro the Maduro with numbers and math*
Maduro: *Removes zeros from currency* Check mate, Imperialists
America: *sulks back home*
Maduro: *remains un-churro'd*

Nothing to worry about, Glorious Leader Maudro has chopped six more zeroes off their currency, inflation has been destroyed despite efforts by the capitalist Americans to cripple their economy!

Slashing zeroes has become a yearly tradition at this point, with this we have slashed the glorious quantity of 14 zeroes, the transition hilariously was ignored because no one use bolivars anymore and Maduro doesnt have money to print the new bills, they are calling this the transition to the "Digital Bolivar" a double speak of "we destroyed the bills value so fast with inflation that no one pay with bolivares bills anymore" also he was planning to create something retarded like Theter but he decided against it

The cultural hate for the bolivar has become so prominent that there are signs on some business saying that they dont accept it, and those who do only accept the one of the highest denomination so they can change it to dollars

If you're an American oil executive in Venezuela... what the hell are you doing there? Just cut your damn losses and run before something like oh... being arrested because Maduro caught a case of the buttmads happens.

Usually because the "american oil executives" are deliberately phrased to make you think its Hank Hill, Eustus "Tex" P. Drillem III, and Chad Vanderexec. What they leave off in this case usually "American" refers to the company they are employed by, not their nationality - this is Esteban Sancuckas native of Carcas. Or best case a Venezuelan or other spic who citizenship while the entire family lives in Venezuela.

Though I guess in that later case, your point still applies.

The reason you stick it out is because when you work in CASA, you get hostile country hazard pay and hostage clauses to get you out. You are sitting behind bars but collecting full salary and when you get out you have "literally served time in south american hell hole jail for my company" on the resume, which is a hell of an advantage in a job interview.

Fair. I hadn't really considered that, but even so. Unless you're one of Maduro's favorites (and even maybe if you are), leaving to a less shithole country should be a priority because I certainly wouldn't want to spend any time in Venezuelan prison, even if I was getting paid fat checks.

I'm not disagreeing with you as I wouldn't want to go into any South American prison system for any period of time, but if you are trying to make your bones in the world of business having done time for the company is going to put your resume to the top of the stack when you go and interview.

Yeah, but there's probably better places to do so than VZ.

The WSJ has a new article on how Venezuela is now growing after an 80% contraction in GDP, the worse decline in a country not at war. It's going to rise between 5 to 10% this year.

This is thanks to the dollarization, the lifting of prices controls and tariffs and low, low taxes (i.e. the government is so fucked that it cannot collect any taxes). For example, casinos are back after being closed by Chavez.

Meanwhile, Venezuelans are become political 'apathetic', just trying to get by in the new economy. Of course, if you getting paid with the old currency (i.e. you are most people), you are super fucked as the government no longer provides or subsides necessities.

When you elected a socialist government so that you can have a fairer economy, who procedes to wreak everything before remaking the old economy but even more unfair.

The context of this is Maduro soft accepting with hate that no one gives a shit about the Bolivar, he allow banks now to accept foreign currency (but you cant still buy things with it so dont expect buying shit on amazon from here it just doesnt work), people dont save their dollars in the bank because almost all of them are on risk of being fucked by the Government

The reason of the growth is something i like to call "out of the grid economy" people is not using banks anymore and they are not paying anything using any kind of national bank services if they do is mostly people changing dollars for bolivars to pay for subsidized stuff like fuel (that run out and they still dont know how to fix it) , almost all the companies are switching to paying in foreign currency, Maduro tried several times to collect taxes but because people is not reporting their income (just plaster freelance and report below minimum wage boom no taxes) he cant do anything about it, if you are a foreigner you can buy a town if you want it because how dirty cheap (for a foreigner) everything is a big ass house for 10k? easy

The casinos was just a ploy to attract more tourism but everyone know no one want to come here and people dont have money to burn in them, they are just glorified drug money washing machines

Edit: forgot to add, the use of crypto is HEAVILY encouraged here, not as much as Ecuador but i have heard news of people buying houses and cars with BTC

Opposition: WE ARE GOING TO UNITE TO FIGHT THE TYRANNY THIS TIME FOR SURE WE WILL WIN AND RECOVER SPACES TO BRING HOPE TO THE PEOPLE

>Pass 3 months backstabbing each other
>Choose fucking undesirables as candidates
>Bully other parties to quit
>Other parties refuse to quit to own everyone in the process
>To the final day the backstabbing continues
>People saw the bullshit and refused to vote

Results: red are communist seized territory

Like the little bitches they are, the opposition is blaming everyone under the sun, promising to "rectify" and try to reach unity next time, some even blame the people for refusing to go to vote, blaming the "system", blaming the electoral committee, blaming the observers but the sad reality is that no one went to vote and there is no need to fix the election when you just win by default

Lol, the Venezuelan opposition was shattered in 2018 and never recovered.

Hope they enjoy irrelevancy

75% confirmed that did not even bother to vote the rest were soldiers and public employees that dont give a shit about changing their masters

Edit: for comparison, the hashtag of the elections was struggling to get 1000 tweets for bots and died, the arrival of Spotify was #1 TT for days
