You forgot the worst offender of all time, Duke Nukem Forever.
Duke Nukem was a shitshow since the late 90s because of the guy who was working on it. Gearbox just took what was given to them and try and make sense of the mess. Plus of course the deadline they were given didn't help matters at all.

So there’s some preorder and special edition cosmetic weapons and outfits that reference the original game. And on top of that, they’re planning on adding more content to the game (likely focusing on werewolves judging by the name) as a DLC expansion pack - and you’re actually mad that is a thing?

All this is being offered without a single shred of footage and so little information. It's the same as other games.

Oh, boy!

This cunt hasn't played the first. You were terribly weak in the first, being manipulated by everyone. This bodes not well.

That's not entirely accurate. Something I liked about Vampire the Masquerade Bloodlines is how the player has an arc in that game. You begin as this very weak young vampire who gets told what to do by everyone but by the end you become so powerful that all of the main characters want you to do the big jobs like killing the villain. You even fight the Sheriff who's implied to be the strongest vampire in the city. Then at the end La Croix attempts to use dominate on you to get the key to the sarcophagus and it doesn't work (which is really interesting since earlier in the game after you blow up the warehouse if you refuse to accept his later tasks he uses dominate on you and forces you to say yes).
The Lone Wolf ending was intensely satisfying in VtmB. It made you feel like the player was deciding to make their own destiny and forge their own path.

It's also implied yet never stated the reason you keep leapfrogging to the point of being the biggest badass in Seattle's vampire world is due to the fact Caine, the very first vampire, he's basically lending you his power, just to see what you'll do with it.

By the end of the game is should be VERY obvious who Caine is supposed to be, and when the point to decide what path you are taking occurs, that's why you've become a one vampire army who is making the entire city their bitch.

Ugh stick a fork in it. Blatant SocJus pandering, a dev team of danger hairs, preordering a year in advance, a fucking CHART of various editions, also available to pre order. No gameplay footage.

Its garbage

The game's senior writer has all kinds of hot takes.

Dobson wouldn't be a vampire, he'd be a Werewolf, specifically a Black Fury wannabe.

Yeah if you're a vampire you get chosen by another vampire, Werewolves are werewolves because you lucked out genitically-so their's a good chance you'll get a total fuck up. It's the only way any most of these lolcows are getting in on the magic action because none of them are enough of a winner to be a mage.

Good news for the furfags I suppose.

The comments on mental illness lead me to believe they are going to absolutely ruin Malkavians. They are not going to let the clan who's flaw is literal insanity stay untouched. It wouldn't vibe with their PC bullshit. They'll probably try and play them all off as quirky, special snowflakes instead of the utter madmen they are

Which would suck ass, because the way they portrayed them in the original was a perfect mix of utterly hilarious, horribly tragic, and downright interesting.

First off, playing as one leads to all sorts of silly shit. It's worth playing one playthrougth as one just for the sheer comedy, and they have some interesting powers for speech checks too if being charismatic isn't your thing.

As for tragedy, a certain split personality in the game has a very sad story that is also all too believable. Becoming a Malkavian only gave it more tragedy, though you can, if you are so inclined, give the story a reasonably happier ending.

Another one in the game (in what I consider some of the best uses of posthumous storytelling ever) actually examines a Malkavian with a very slow burn from all too sane (if somewhat sociopathically so) to eventually going full batshit mad, and not in the funny way.

If they fuck that up, then to hell with it, I'm not touching VTMB2 with a ten foot pole.

Ironic, since we basically have nothing about Cyberpunk aside from a demo that wasn't even the finished product.

Yeah, super ironic that people are excited for a game by a developer with a proven track record and that's shown actual gameplay footage while not excited for a revival of a 14 year old game by a largely unproven developer who haven't shown anything but a CGI trailer for a game that's supposed to be out in a year.

wait, no, that isn't ironic at all

Wait, so Malkavians will be turned into attentionwhores with headmates?

Proven track record? Witcher 1 and 2 were mediocre at best and Witcher 3 gets way overhyped despite all it's short comings. Also, said gameplay footage wasn't even the real deal, combined that it didn't help just how generic it looked. So, can we stop sucking CD Projekts dick?
